Re: What are you playing right now?

Beat Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Enjoyed it. Also picked up and beat 1000xResist, sci-fi walking sim. Enjoyed it a lot although it was very intense in places. It's the first game to make me cry in at least a decade, so there's that. I'm currently partway through Shining Force 2 on Switch Gene...

Re: Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Never like to hear the words "the worst minigames" in any context. Glad the story is holding up! It actually reached the point where I am foregoing getting all recruits this playthrough. It's pretty bad. It's especially annoying because one minigame seems designed to be streamlined (you g...

Re: Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Those wanting to try this on the Switch should really wait for a crash/hang patch, if not a performance one. Especially in the late game, there are frequent hangs on the loading screen and patches. While it's still probably less than one per hour of playing, it's still pretty unfortunate, especially...

Re: Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

A week later, I'm at 30 hours. Again, these are just general thoughts, nothing actually spoilery outside of standard Suikoden ideas/mechanics. Dungeon specific to an optional recruit was probably the most fun (and rewarding) dungeon so far. Wish I'd done it earlier. The card minigame is really fun, ...

Re: Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

I'm about 20 hours into EC Hundred Heroes, and I'd say so far it's been good but not overwhelming enjoyment. Throwing my impressions into a spoiler list just in case people would rather go in totally fresh, but these are just impressions and contain no spoilers about anything but general tone so far...

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

This game is out next week on Switch/PS/XBox/PC. A classic-styled JRPG headed-up by some of the original Suikoden staff including the recently-passed Murayama, it's been receiving generally good impressions from the Kickstarter backers who received and are already playing physical copies (mostly in ...

Continued progress on Tears of the Kingdom: Found the final round of Tears, got the Master Sword Went through a bunch of encounters in Hyrule Castle with "fake Zelda" including the many-phantom-ganons Still no idea what's going on with Kakariko Village yet Explored a fair bit of the depths...

Re: Actual Top 8 — Poll 4

This is the one poll I feel I can vote in as I haven't played one of the games in each of the others! It's tough, though - while Chrono Trigger is a much tighter game, FF6 is sprawling and has more to offer - more customization, larger party size, and more secrets. On the whole the customization isn...

Re: What are you playing right now?

Interesting mentioning Depths and the gameplay loop - that's something I found fascinating about the game, how amazing (imo) the three layers mesh together. Build flying contraptions on the surface to go into the sky, collect sundelions and fairies in the sky so you can survive longer in the depths...

Re: BOTTOM 16 — Poll 3

Breath of the Wild is the most different Zelda since Ocarina of Time took the series into 3D. I would even argue that it's the first truly successful execution of the Zelda series "mission" in 3D, which is why I'm voting for it here. I won't vote for BotW here since I didn't play it, but ...
