Super Mario World is one of my favorite games ever so it's getting a vote. Super Metroid is on my list of games to play in 2016 but I highly highly doubt I'll like it better than World.

I take Mario any day.

Some people like that. I think SM takes it a bit far.

I actually think Super Metroid is pretty straightforward as far as this kind of game is concerned, since there's really only one logical path based on your abilities at hand, unless you're sequence breaking.

Odd that I don't bring this up until the quarterfinals, but my biggest issue with Super Metroid is that I felt like the wall jump controls were too picky. Or at least for my clumsy thumbs. Seriously.
I’ve been waiting for the sun to come up. Waiting for the showers to stop. Waiting for the penny to drop. One time. And I’ve been standing in a cloud of plans. Standing on the shifting sands. Hoping for an open hand. One time.

I feel it as well and I also find the same issue about activating the shinespark.
That's why I always felt that Fusion and Zero Mission are better games, for what concerns gameplay and level design at least.

On a side note I hated that in SMW you couldn't beat the game by just beating every level normally.

As in beat the game 100%? What's the issue with that?
