Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse - This games aged pretty badly however it still was fun for a freebie but nowhere near as exciting as people hyped it up to be.

And Yet It Moves - Been in my backlog for who knows how long so finally nice to tick it off. Was a fun little game with a really cool concept. Short and sweet.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus - This games really good and a huge breath of fresh air into the series. There's a few minor annoying things like not being able to switch pokemon freely like in the past 3 games and having to go back to the main hub world to switch areas instead of switch to the area you want straight away. Other than that the games amazing and has a really really difficult 'final' boss. The extra chores to get a full dex entry is really cool and the whole story is really nice. Throwing pokemon and battle feels really good and I really hope they can fine tune it all and this becomes the new norm for pokemon. I played 64 hours in 8 days and have completely grinded out from it. I finished the pokedex but have some side quests to finish as well as like 80 pokemon to get to level 10 pokedex for the full entry. Not sure if I will end up doing that or not. I really wish I had looked at a few guides on how to evolve certain pokemon though as most of the game I was using pokemon from BDSP which felt really meh and it wasn't until about 75% through the game that I got a team of new pokemon. You can get new pokemon in the first area however they're funky evolutions that I just never worked out. It's one of my pet peeves of the series that it's very very hard to work out stuff without a guide at times. I'm being super critical though of a game I adored and spent my entire last 8 day devoted to so I clearly loved it.

Finished:
Jan 07. Deaths Door (Switch)
Jan 09. Fire Emblem Fates: Revelations (3DS)
Jan 27. Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Jan 27. Final Fantasy VII (PS1 remake)
Feb 14. Pokemon Legends Arceus (switch)

Complete:
Jan 08. Deaths Door

Pokemon Arceus is a really good game, it actually fixed almost all my issues with the series. Most of the big ones anyways. The biggest flaw is the poor visuals and performance, but otherwise nailed the core experience. Hope to see this expanded greatly in the future, though I'm sure it will evolve at a glacial pace.

To be honest, I was kind of disappointed in Yoku's Island Express after all the hype I'd heard for it. It was a cute little mostly-linear Metcastlevania made up of pinball set-pieces with some slogging between them. It had some fluffed/padded design elements that I didn't care for, probably owing to the fact that the dev team wasn't made up of pro pinball designers, so that's fine. It was fine. Fine game.

Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair - Really fun game I enjoyed the platforming a lot. Some of the overworld secrets were pretty tricky to find and the Impossible Lair was very very hair but I loved how they designed it. I got it for free so I can't complain about value. Totally worth $20 imo.

Metroid Dread - Shorter than I'd hope for, The Emmi mechanics got annoying and the speed boost jump thing was explained badly to the point where I had to google how to do it. Everything else about the game was superb. I really loved it and the difficulty on Normal (Hard difficulty was locked behind New Game+) seemed very fair. I died a lot but that's to be expected. Unsure if I'll try Hard Mode as it might be a little too challenging.

2/27 - James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (PS2)
2/28 - Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (2013) (XBLA)
3/7 - James Bond 007 (GB)

Beat 8 games since my last update! I can probably recommend all of these, but standouts are OlliOlli World, Disco Elysium, and the James Bond Game Boy game. OOW is a great iteration on an excellent foundation, Disco is a unique RPG with very compelling systems, and Bond is a surprisingly good Zelda-like.

I completed Picross S6, knocking one of my relaxing on the couch Switch games out of the rotation.

Elden Ring was just excellent. Might just be one of my favourite gaming experiences. Took a hefty 140 hours for me to get to the end, with from I can tell doing most of the content available. I know there's post-game stuff as well. I might even be motivated to try NG+

NG+ is absolutely worth it in Souls games. If you enjoyed the game that much, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. :)
