Japan has a very big community aspect bled into their culture there's no way in hell they'd do that. Western cultures seem to think 100% for themselves where as japan apparently don't have people that try to stand out. Take a look at all the guys at nintendo japan none of them act like they're amazing or the greatest person ever where as say Reggie has more of an attitude that makes him stand out and you can tell he thinks he's awesome. I don't think it's entirely Brazil's fault. Some of the blame lies with the Olympics organization. Some lies with nationalism-fuelled media marketing machines. Some lies with us, for eating it up.
Considering that's how japan rolls they'd not even think about doing that.
