Re: What are you playing right now?

My main ambient games are still Final Fantasy XIV: Online and Langrisser Mobile , although I am weaning off both of them. Not as much going on in either right now. My main active social game is Monster Hunter Wilds , which I'm still playing nightly with friendos despite having the platinum trophy al...

Re: 2025 Game Clear Thread

March Progress March was a great, fun month of gaming! I continued my Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster blitz, finishing off the final two games in the collection (both the longest, gameplay time-wise, by far) and then moved on to complete another classic '90s RPG, before pivoting to a huge time-sink so...

Re: Trophy Bragging Rights

Platinum trophy #78: Monster Hunter Wilds (PS5) Updated this to a Platinum after much crown hunting, thanks to excellent teamwork from the TONe guild. About 160 hours in for the whole works. I have almost 600 hours in World and am still missing 2 crowns for the Platinum for that, so this one feels ...

Re: Watching any good TV?

Hey Merl, did you watch a show on Apple TV+ called See? It came up on my recommendations.

Re: Watching any good TV?

Quarterly check-up on our TV exploits: For light background noise television for multitasking, we went through the first three seasons of Schitt's Creek (excellent 20-30-minute episodes of unbeatable Canadian comedy) and the entire series of A Different World (I skipped season 1 because Lisa Bonet l...

Re: A Decade of Gaming Resolutions! (2020-2029)

With the conquest of MoHu Wilds, I've knocked another goal off the decade list (beat 10 PS5 games). It's mostly stray beats on odd platforms left, so I'm going to have to take the next 4 years doing very intentional cleanup work. Courtesy of The Shoemaker. Since the world, and the internet, and this...

Re: Trophy Bragging Rights

I don't think I'm going to include this in my beat games tally, and it's not a platinum, but this is still the place to mention it:

The DLC packs for A Little to the Left went on sale, so I picked them up and brought my trophy % for the game back up to 100%. Fun chill little organizational puzzles.

Re: Last movie you watched & your rating

I watched my seventh film of the year: Smile 2 (2024) — 5.95/10 Not my genre. I like how it was shot, at least. Stylish cinematography. The lead actress was good. Other than that, it's a movie about a creepy creature/curse thing that makes people hurt gratuitously. Meh. 2025 in Summary 03-22: 9.3/10...

Re: What are you reading?

A powerful and harrowing book—we deserve the harrowing—about the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people being committed by Israel and its western backers/supplies. Partly about the genocide itself, and partly about the context of global enablers, the systemic forces that allow it to happen and t...

Re: Last movie you watched & your rating

I watched my sixth film of the year: Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) — 9.1/10 Ensemble crime drama about a cabal of mass murderers who think money is more important than people. The plot itself is fine and does a couple things I really like (e.g. exposing the villains at the start instead of savin...
