That's good intel! I wonder if it will release on the same day in NA too.The Shoemaker wrote:Data mining the Nintendo of Europe website shows that the Zelda BOTW Amiibo might be launching on March 4th, which would also be the launch date for this game as well as NX.

Didn't They say it was a Feb 27th release date worldwide?Kreegs wrote:That's good intel! Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Never heard anything about February anywhere! NX doesn't come out until March, and this game will launch on Wii U and NX on the same day, so I don't see it happening. Personally I've always viewed this game as a holiday 2017 release, so March would be welcomed.Slurmee wrote:Didn't They say it was a Feb 27th release date worldwide?Kreegs wrote:That's good intel! The Switch version of Breath of the Wild is going to 900p 30fps on TV, 720p 30fps on the tablet. (Wii U version is 720p 30fps.)

Switch version will also have better sound quality and loading, and the only version with a special edition.
Wii U version requires a 3GB install.

I was probably not going to get the special edition, but now I see it comes with a Switch carrying case, which isn't something I had seen or considered before now. I may get it just for that. The Shoemaker wrote:Switch version will also have better sound quality and loading, and the only version with a special edition.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
An interesting interview with Eiji Aonuma on BOTW
http://gonintendo.com/stories/272666-ao ... g-elements
Talks a bit about the lessons learned from Skyward Sword, the difficulties the physics engine gave them, as well as designing an open world game.
EDIT: I do want that Switch carrying case, but I don't know if it's worth all the extra money, nor am I sure if any of those special editions are still available. I kind of want to see how Switch fits in my bag first. The biggest issue is the sticks pointing out, taking off the Joy Cons might fix that, but that's a little inconvenient.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I made it to Kakariko Village today, and I think that's when it really hit me. This is the first HD Zelda game, and it's beautiful. There's so much to find, and the landscapes are so varied. It really is breath taking at times, even though it doesn't have the longest draw distance or the cleanest textures.
I almost find it overwhelming to venture into a new area, so I've been taking it pretty slowly, trying to really run through an area before moving onto the next one. So far I've been able to upgrade my heath twice and stamina once. I did the stamina most recently, and you really notice a difference in terms of how much further you can run and climb. I think I'll choose stamina again the next time I upgrade.

I've been going all-stamina. Running and climbing is just too important.
I've been stuck in one shrine now for the past 40 minutes. I know the solution, the only reason I'm stuck is because of finnicky aim controls. This may be the worst part of this game so far—knowing what to do, but having to battle against bad controls to make it happen.

Are you aware that you can turn off motion-controlled aiming?Kong Wen wrote:I've been going all-stamina. Running and climbing is just too important.
