I'm still going to get one, because I get all video game systems and play all video games. I'm not psyched about it, but I'm sure I'll get entertainmentpleasures from some of the software that uses this platform to deliver them.Jordan wrote:Man, the reaction here is like the opposite of the reaction I've seen everywhere else. Most people are psyched about this thing and it was dominating Twitter trends (among other things).

Re: Nintendo Switch
Please have a better battery we can buy (like the Wii U) so it can last long 3 hours of Zelda isn't enough.
Drumble doesn't respect the sigs so here's a link to my backloggery
Re: Nintendo Switch
Seriously, especially if it's supposed to double as a fully-handheld system. I had to play with my wiiPad constantly plugged in because it would run out of juice in like 20 minutes.Slurmee wrote:Please have a better battery we can buy (like the Wii U) so it can last long 3 hours of Zelda isn't enough.

Gamepad battery was a big issue.Kong Wen wrote:Seriously, especially if it's supposed to double as a fully-handheld system. I assume the 3 hour Zelda is with wireless on, I wonder how long it lasts with it off. I swear 3DS battery is doubled when you turn of wireless features.

Hell, New 3DS battery life is excellent even with everything turned on. Obviously, the Switch is going to be processing a lot harder than a 3DS, though. The Shoemaker wrote:I wonder how long it lasts with it off. I swear 3DS battery is doubled when you turn of wireless features.

Re: Nintendo Switch
The Joy Con grip bundled with the Switch isn't the charging version. It's just a plastic shell to which the Cons connect to give it a traditional form factor. You can buy a charging version of the exact same thing for an extra $30.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Not a big issue for me. If they only take 3.5 hours to recharge, and last for over 20 hours, Im totally fine just plugging the in when I'm not playing.

I've never had too much reason to worry about controller life either, but it does warrant extra consideration for portable use.Kreegs wrote:Not a big issue for me. If they only take 3.5 hours to recharge, and last for over 20 hours, Im totally fine just plugging the in when I'm not playing.

Re: Nintendo Switch
What I'm wondering is if the controllers die, is there no way to charge and play? They charge while docked right? I guess you'll need to be anal about reattaching them to the console every time you're done playing.Kreegs wrote:Not a big issue for me. Not putting the charging grip in the box is dumb though.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Plus, why not put the charging one in the box? Why invent a specifically non-charging one just to bundle? Dumb. Unlike every other controller, you can't have your controllers plugged in and charging while playing. If you run out of juice in the middle of a game, you have to dock up your controllers and start playing on the tablet.VictorViper wrote:I've never had too much reason to worry about controller life either, but it does warrant extra consideration for portable use.Kreegs wrote:Not a big issue for me.
