Also updated the hockey pool still really close. (I guess I'm leading due to my total 5 score being better than kongs)
I've got you beat on Division leaders for now. Crosby's also currently beating Kane, and the Wings are on pace not to make the playoffs, so those'll all put me ahead of you before tie-breakers come into play. Still lots of time for all of that to change, though!

I wonder how Colorado can blow up their team? They need to do something. You could end up in a "farm prospects for a few years" scenario. I wonder if the Golden Knights (trademark suit pending) will be able to come in 2nd last in the league next year!

The Capitals picked up Shattenkirk for a couple of draft picks just before the deadline. UGH!!! I don't like this trade because the Capitals are a good team, and Shattenkirk is a good player, so his acquisition will make the team better just as the playoffs are coming around. :( Boo Caps.

Avs should have moved Duchene or Landy (preferable landy). Iginla for a 4th seems crap but I guess better than nothing but still feels like we got shafted. Really goes to show how bad losing stastny and gaining much older players like beauchmen and iginla was to the team.

Looking back at the playoff colorado avalanche and I see a ton of trades that I really didn't understand.

O'Reilly - Traded this was kinda needed I believe
Stastny - Lost in FA (I believe this was one of the biggest loses)
McGinn - Traded in O'Reilly deal honestly I think we overpayed in the O'Reilly deal and losing McGinn hurt the bottom 6
Parenteau - We traded him for Daniel Briere the player that was benched for half the season. Parenteau was working magic with Duchene
Benoit - Probably a non factor lost in FA but he was third in TOI Avg.
Holden - He was traded during the last offseason for a pick so I doubt his move meant anything
Talbot - This is the same as the Parenteau trade he was traded at the deadline either last year or the year before for a player that was benched
Hejda - Retired can't do anything about that.
McLeod - Guy was a penalty machine we traded him finally but I feel having done it earlier would have been better as we could have had a rookie from 2014 on the roster by now.

We also traded Tanguay + our number 1 rookie for Mikkel Boedker who ended up leaving 2 months late

That's 8 of the top 15 scorers on the 2012-13 team gone/4 of the top 10. And the big thing was 4 of the top 5 players for TOI have left.

Also our Free Agency has been horrid pick up old unwanted players or very cheap players.

If you compare what we've lost and what we've gain in the 4 years it looks horrible.

I have a feeling they were trying to move Duschene and just couldn't get anything done. They would have only gotten picks for him anyway. Don't feel too bad. The Wings were trying to blow up the team this year, too. It's going to be a road to recovery... time to become a lowkey fan and find another team to cheer for in the meantime.

I started cheering for Dallas and they are now 28th. I'm curse so it's time to start supporting Minnesota.

That being said I'm kinda just cheering on all the Canadian teams.

How about the leafs with all their rookies piling up points like crazy this season.

Never been the biggest Leafs fan, but they're on my cheering contingency list because they're a Canadian team. :)

Crosby's in a pitched battle for the point lead, but McDavid is like 5-6 points ahead of him with only 8 games left in the season, and Crosby missed something like 8-10 games at the beginning of the season. Crazy that the race is this tight, actually. Crosby's also fighting for the goal scoring lead.

Most importantly, though, Crosby has already scored the highlight reel goal of the year a few nights ago, with a one-handed backhand wrister after breaking through several defensemen.
