Fast RMX

Post by Kreegs »

I just downloaded this game and I thought I would start a place where it can be discussed. I know a few of you have downloaded this as well. The game looks fantastic and is very smooth!

It is currently my only game on Switch. Had my doubts about the series, their first entry (on Wii) didn't feel like a 'fast' racer. Tried to replay the Wii entry, what made we skip Fast Neo on Wii U. But without Zelda, I gave Fast RMX a try so I could test the Switch controls I have. Must say the game impressed me and I've progressed nicely. Tried all playmodes (handheld, tabletop, TV), even the tabletop with 2 player Joycon controls. Must say my eyes start to hurt after playing on TV for a while, don't know if it's the game or me just being tired.

Anyway, I enjoy racing on subsonic. Still have to try supersonic and online racing. Think I'll wait for the update before going online (friend racing).

Yeah I've been enjoying it! Working on Subsonic, completed about 5 cups so far. The mechanic of shifting colors is just engaging enough. A lot of the later maps can be pretty exhilarating. So far this has been my go to multiplayer game. Great for pick up and play, works well with a single JoyCon, and the HD rumble feels nice.

I've unlocked about 6 cars so far, but I really haven't found anything that appears more functional than the first two cars. The three stats seem equally important and it's hard to sacrifice any of them.

I'm sure I will race you when the time comes, Merlin! I have found it fun, but it definitely doesn't hook me like Mario Kart does. More like a quick pick up and play for me. I like the color changing element for boosts.

I think this is an impressive and ambitious high speed racer take by Shin'en. I've been too focused on Zelda to play much of it, but it controls nicely, and it rewards track memorization like any good racer of its type should. Plenty of nail-biter races already. Glad I'll have this to play in depth once Zelda is knocked out.

Yeah I'm just slowly inching through. The later stages get really intense, like try not to crash into anything but still take out the CPU because easy mode is actually pretty tough, intense.

I tried one match online, seems to work quick. The other players don't look very fluid while moving, but the controls for me felt as smooth as single player, so that's good. Will probably try it more when they patch in friend support.

As others, I'm playing this sporadically, but I think it's a fine game.
I got podiums on all the subsonic stages but that means that I got third palce in all the latest ones. I still haven't memorized a single track, and racing gets interesting when you know where you should be on the track at any given moment.
One thing I'm sure is about vehicles: I like the lighter ones, Guang Zhou and K/R Rodon with a preference for the former. Though I have to unlock at least other 4.

I use K/R Rodon most of the times. Just won Silicon championship on Supersonic with it on first attempt. Still have to finish podium for Platinum on Subsonic, but that is just a matter of time. Oh, I unlocked 2 more vehicles: Willard and Rochdale. Willard is a heavy, high speed vehicle and Rochdale is the lightest so far with max acceleration. You might like that one neuzd!

Time attack and online racing with friends options have been added. Haven't tried online racing yet, but if it's smooth racing I sure would like to race online with anyone of you. Will try online racing first, see how the connection holds.
