Crosby's in a pitched battle for the point lead, but McDavid is like 5-6 points ahead of him with only 8 games left in the season, and Crosby missed something like 8-10 games at the beginning of the season. Crazy that the race is this tight, actually. Crosby's also fighting for the goal scoring lead.

Most importantly, though, Crosby has already scored the highlight reel goal of the year a few nights ago, with a one-handed backhand wrister after breaking through several defensemen.

Wow. That's obscene. Just... wow!

Hurray! I'm glad they're out. No more sitting on laurels. Time to keep building.

My cheering priority now is Penguins > any Canadian team > doesn't matter/don't care. It looks like Winnipeg might be the only Canadian team that doesn't make it this year, which is a welcome change from the dark age of no Canadian teams making it at all.

Sorry it had to be at your expense, but those two Preds points mean that ONE MORE Kings loss or ONE MORE Preds victory will clinch a spot for the Preddies. Fingers crossed.

The Nashville Predators, a franchise younger than Detroit's dead streak, now have a longer playoff streak than Detroit. 8-)

I'm going to have to many teams to cheer for during the playoffs.

Washington - Because of Nathan Walker
Columbus - Because underdogs and because BJ's is the funniest name.
Montreal - Because Canada
Toronto (TBD) - Because underdogs and Canada
Ottawa (TBD)- Because Canada
Team Versing Minnesota - Because fuck Minnesota
Edmonton - McDavids is god and it's honestly about time they're the team I'll be following into the playoffs.
Calgary - Because Canada

I'm hoping for these match ups
Chicago v St. Louis (Just so St. Louis don't play Minnesota)
Minnesota v Nashville (As I don't want to cheer for St. Louis)
Edmonton v Calgary (Battle of Alberta)
Anaheim v San Jose (Battle of California)

---
Washington v Boston (So Toronto v Ottawa can happen)
Pittsburgh v Columbus (Because Rangers can't catch either of them and they wont catch Washington)
Montreal v Rangers (I think this is set in stone)
Toronto v Ottawa (Battle of Ontario)

Also this is the first time I've been alive to see Detroit miss the playoffs.

Here's the final standings

Kong and I tied in Points and in Divisional winners. Kong currently has 1 extra point more than me due to Detroit missing the playoffs. If for we tie with the extra points I think we'll just call it a overall tie as Seguin scored more than Tavares and LA finished 1 spot above Dallas.

I haven't watched enough games but Calder has to go to Matthews with 40 goals and the Vezina seems between Holtby and Bobrovsky. So Holtby could tie it up for me leaving it to be a battle between Capitals and Penguins possibly deciding who wins.

Also we all picked really well with everyone getting over 200 points with 3 players and every other player getting 60+ points.

Also so pissed at the LA Kings right now I wan't the battle of alberta. I guess they'll have to knock out Anaheim and the Sharks.

Also McDavids hitting 100 is insane. 25 points in 14 games.
