Oh, another game with tailor-designed kids. I think I'll take my permadeath lumps, as I've done in past FE games. I don't mind having my hand forced a little bit in terms of the strategic resources (classes) I have available to me at any given time. I'm also feeling unmotivated to do anything particularly special that I might have gone out of my way to do in past FE titles (e.g. levelling Mozu to make her useful). We'll see if I manage to paint myself into a corner here. :)

Mozu honestly isn't worthwhile. She takes away way too much experience from your other characters and the results are nowhere near as fantastic as Donnel's. Her HP in particular will always be crappy. Humorously enough, she tends to fall off at a certain point and usually is best around the middle of the game. The only great thing about Mozu is being able to pass on aptitude to a kid.

Yeah I hear you on the permadeath thing. I do that often myself. You can easily just use Nyx, promoted Elise or even Felicia with a flame shuriken for your magic needs.

Just hit level 40 with my Frankencherche monstrosity:

I toyed with Threaten Def 3 in the C slot, but ideally Cherche is never close enough to activate it—she moves in, the enemy dies, and then she moves out. At least with Savage Blow she can soften up nearby enemies for follow-ups from allies.

Hmm... I just spent 20 orbs trying to summon Julia, and ended up with another 5☆ Camilla. Lucky me... but kind of also not lucky.

I'm not sure what to do with her. There's no one else that really needs a Brave Axe+ (unless I want to 5☆ Hawkeye, and I don't), so I don't think I have great skill inheritance options. I already have a 4☆ Camilla with much better IVs, so I suppose one option would be to promote her and then merge this one into it.

You could also pass savage blow 3 onto somebody else, like a ranged unit for splash aoe cheese.

Anyone grabbing Echoes this Friday? Picking up my 3DS again isn't very enticing, but I think I can work through the pain for some good old Fire Emblem.

I have a copy ordered, so we'll see if it gets here. I haven't got a shipping notice yet. Don't, uh... don't expect the "good old Fire Emblem" you're used to. Gaiden is the black sheep of the series, and from what I've heard, this remake reproduces much of the original game. Small cast, no marriage, dungeon-crawling, no weapon triangle, etc. It should still be quite good! I'm hoping it'll wash the awful taste of the terrible Fates (Conquest) out of my mouth.

I think the plot will be much better for sure. Somebody I talk to on Discord said he hates the game though, but he tends to be somebody who skips through all the dialogue. It's probably going to be jarring playing the game after Fates due to all the gameplay mechanics changes. I think there will be a lot less overt stupidity than Fates though. Difficulty wise, I don't know if it will be harder or easier. I think it might be harder, which is a terrifying prospect as Fates: Conquest was one of the harder games in the series imo.

Character wise I definitely think I'll like Celica's group better based on the limited interaction with those characters I've gotten from Heroes. I'm going to refrain from getting the game just yet though. I've been screwing around a lot with Granblue lately.

Picked up the game today, only a couples hours in.

So far, I'm much more invested in both the story and characters than I was with Fates. The full voice acting is a nice touch that adds a lot to the characters. There are a lot of new features in this game, hard to say what was part of the original game and what has been updated! Feels like classic Fire Emblem though, which is nice.

I was going to cancel my sluggish Amazon pre-order and pick this up in store this morning, but just as I was getting ready to go, I got my shipping confirmation. So I won't be able to start playing for a few days. Fine by me, as my parents are visiting this week. I'll start it up as soon as it comes in, though. :)
