Preds new jerseys are a good bit simpler than their previous ones, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing. I'm starting to warm to them. I imagine after awhile they'll become normal and people will buy them just like they did the old ones.

Insiders are saying Nashville couldn't work out a deal with Vegas in time to keep Neal. Vegas likely planning to flip him in a trade, either immediately or hold onto him until the trade deadline to pimp him out as a rental in exchange for prospects/draft picks.

Same story with Ottawa and Methot.

As am I. Looks like MN avoiding a big loss and added a small gain? Weird for an expansion draft were everyone is usually a loser.
I intend to live forever, or die trying

:( Avs lost their back up goalie Calvin Pickard. He was still young and tbh I liked him over Varly especially due to the injury issues Varly has been having. I'd much have rather lost a forward over Pickard.

Dumba thing is true.

Nashville lost Neal

Kong is Tomas Nosek any good I'm surprised they didn't pick Mrazek.

This team looks better than the Avs

They do look better than the Avs!

They got Marchessault from Florida, Methot from Ottawa, Neal from Nashville, all good players. Perron from the Blues, Grabovski from the Isles, also good players. Emelin from the Habs. Pickard from the Avs, you're right to feel bad about that one, he's going to be a good goalie. And Fleury, obviously. Trevor van Riemsdyk is OK. Clarkson is OK but he has a bad contract.

Slurm, I couldn't tell you whether Nosek is good or not, he's only played in maybe 15 total NHL games over the past two seasons. He's had success in the AHL though.

EDIT: They're also stockpiling picks in side-deals for picking or not picking certain players. This is what they ended up with so far:

2nd round (2020) from Penguins
1st round (2017) from Jets
3rd round (2019) from Jets
6th round (2017) from Sabres
5th round (2017) from Hurricanes
2nd round (2017) from Lightning
4th round (2018) from Lightning
1st round (2017) from Islanders
2nd round (2019) from Islanders

They'll pick 6th in the 1st round this year with their own pick, and given the above, they'll have two more 1st round picks! They also have two 2nd round picks this year plus the above. If they draft properly and get some good prospects, they'll have a dynamite team in 5 years.

I wanted them to protect Pickard over Varly as he's 29 and we're not going to be contenders for the next few years at least and with his injuries who knows if he'll still be playing at 33-34 and even then we'll have 2-3 years out of him.

We could have traded Varly for some more rookies and picks and helped the team grow more now we lost our up and coming goalie and can't move Varly as we have no replacement also when Varly does get injured we have no one to back him up.

Edit: I'm going to be watching a lot of Vegas games I think.

Obviously they're committed to him, because he doesn't have a no-movement clause, and he's costing them $6M a year in salary. I doubt the Knights would have even taken him at that cost.

McDavid won the Hart, Ted Lindsay
Matthews won the Calder
Burns won the Norris
Anderson won the Masterson
Gaudreau won the Lady Bing
Tortorella won the Jack Adams
Bobrovsky won the Vezina
Bergeron won the Selke
GM of the year was David Poile (Nashville!!) even though he traded Hornqvist for Neal, Hornqvist then scored the Cup-winning goal against his team, and Neal got poached by the Knights...!

I really hope Avs trade Duchene I'll possibly just move teams to whatever team he supports considering he was the reason I started watching the avs due to the video below. There's a few teams I wouldn't cheer for (Philly, Minnesota, Chicago, St Louis) but I've only heard Islanders, Nashville and Carolina mentioned regarding trades. I just hope for his sake the Avs move him. I really think he'll pull a Tyler Seguin. Also Eberly, Tavares and Duchene would be nasty. Duchene on the Predators would also be amazing with Subban being able to feed him the puck. I'd honestly be a little sad if he goes to Carolina as they don't seem to have that many good players.
