I don't know man, Cersai said it takes about 5 days for a raven to fly from the wall to Kingslanding, which is about the distance to Dragon Stone. Not sure how fast drogon can go with Danny holding on with no face protection, plus yknow, Gendry and his magic feet.
Regardless of the time, I found the whole, Jon waits on a rock for x number of days while the white walkers waited for Dany to be a bit silly, even if the big plan was the get a dragon over there.
Personally, just not a big fan of the combative direction they took Arya and Sansa, feels forced. All the Stark reunions have been disappointing and lacking in emotion, which could very well be the point, just not something I enjoy. But i also haven't been a fan of Arya or Sansa since season 4.

The timing is pretty well-attested to work out perfectly, even Gendry running for 5-6 hours, so let's stick with your "regardless" on that front. That leaves us with you simply thinking NK's plan to patiently wait for and then recruit a dragon is silly. NK isn't in any big rush. His whole army is dead. That's the point of what makes them scary and intimidating. They have all day. They can stand here until you starve or freeze.
You're perfectly entitled not to enjoy the Sansa & Arya dynamic though. It's definitely been the point, as you said, and I haven't been "enjoying"
it either in the sense that it's not giving me emotional payoffs, but I recognize it as structurally and narratively correct. It's definitely something they have to resolve, at least in part, in the next episode. If they leave that awkwardness through a whole inter-season break, they risk alienating people from those characters.

Definitely, like the Sansa and Arya thing, I'm not saying it's implausible for the Night King to want to wait the whole thing out, I just personally found the plot line silly.
I'm sure Sansa and Arya will unite next episode and put and end Little finger once and for all!
Also, who wants to bet they end the season with Jon and Dany having incest boat sex?

Closer to 3 days, 4 tops, which makes sense. They would have waited longer if they had to. They wanted the dragons to show up.
What about the Sansa and Arya interactions do you not like? They're tense and uncomfortable, but they're 100% in keeping with both of their characters. Sansa is in charge, but she's freaked out by Arya acting like a freak and she also has a better eye for how tenuous their overall position is. She's also more prideful and practical now that she doesn't have to simper under whatever corrupt power has her under the thumb. I think they're doing a great job with Arya, too, since she's still a child and has an over-inflated sense of her own capabilities. Most of the internet fandom nerds seem to have this need to see Arya as a total unhinged badass, but she's actually only a low-ranking badass with some minor training who, due to being a self-centred teenager who's spent a lot of time alone, thinks she's the coolest kid in the world. She also hasn't seen Sansa in like 8 years, and they didn't get along when they were kids, and they're sisters, and they're kind of competing for the place their memories and legacies of Winterfell have for them.
All that said, it would be nicer if they had more time to explore these interactions. In general, I don't mind the increased pace of the show through the major plot points. The main reason it works is because most of the character interactions are already fleshed out, but this new dynamic between Arya and Sansa doesn't have the benefit of that. So it would be better if we got to see more of it. It would allow more detail and nuance. The only way I'd say I don't "like" those scenes is purely because I'm nervous of what the end result is going to be with Pointy-beard McSchemes-a-lot in town.

The whole first scene seemed like it could have been removed then I think the next 20-30 minutes was spent in the one area with Cersi, Dany, Jon etc etc etc sure it was nice at first but became a little stale after awhile and felt like it could have been shortened especially considering it was a 81 minute episode however when the wight came out it was an amazing scene. Then things finally started to happen Tyrion and Cersi part was legit scary I would have cried had she killed him so I'm so glad she didn't then I was utterly shocked she agreed to the term and I'm so glad that we found out later that she lied I feel like the 3 of them teaming up would be a horrible idea. Jamie and Cersi scene was just as scary as the Tyrion scene and I thought he may die as well and am glad he didn't in a way as I'd like him to kill Cersi. I think he's going to come help Jon and Dany. Winterfell OMFG I wanted littlefinger to win the game of thrones. Reddit spoke about the stark girls crossing him and I legit didn't expect it I though Sansa was going to kill Arya. That turn and Sansa saying "Lord Baelish" was perfect and my Sister and I were both thrown off guard. Theon part was weird the fact everyone was like FUCK YARA then Theon killed that guy then they pull a total 180 was weird. The ball kicking part was funny but I feel like Theon should never have won that fight but he couldn't die there so makes sense. Back at Winterfell and OMG OMG OMG Sam is da man. R+L=J A and the fact Bran didn't know that it was a planned wedding was so cool plus the flash back was nice. The sex scene was so awkward after that it was so gross and not really sure what Tyrion was staring at does he know if so how is he just worried that Jon and Dany are going to destroy his house I'm still underdecided on whose side he's on as I felt like he was lying to cersi. Then the wall bit was mega predictable and so I wasn't really hyped over it other than blue flamed dragon confirmed. My guess is Tormund is alive as they would have shown him dead otherwise we'll see another bullshit oh he survived moment at the start of the next season. I really wish the Sam/Bran Jon/Dany scene was the last scene it would have worked better but I understand that the american attutide and audience prefers actions and violence over stuff like that so I get why they chose the walker scene to end it.

I thought the whole slow burn on the opening scene was great. Really amped up the tension. I was sure shit was going to go sideways the whole time. I agree with you about the tension in the Tyrion and Jaime scenes. I thought Cersei was going to be a total boss and send her armies, alas. That would have been too good to be true. Jaime covering his hand and leaving the city was great. He's bringing some more V-steel north.
Theon has a long, long redemption arc. I like where it's going. When Jon told him he's a Greyjoy and a Stark, that was a turning point for him.
Sam is indeed the man. I like that Bran didn't know at first. They got a perfect actor to play Rhaegar. Also, Sam brought a huge two-handed sword north, and it's V-steel. You know who's going to use that? The motherfucking Hound!!! I bet V-steel can kill a zombie Mountain.
Tormond and Beric are alive. They were running along the top of the wall, not down the ramps to Eastwatch. They were on the part of the wall that didn't collapse. They'll probably go to Castle Black, maybe to Winterfell. If they were going to kill them off in such an unglorious fashion, it would have made more sense to have them die in the last episode to make the mission feel more costly. Plus Beric told the Hound they'd meet again. I wonder where Gendry was in this episode.
I'm also not sure about the Tyrion staring at the end. Maybe he just knows the two of them being together means trouble. Or maybe it has something to do with a deal he made with Cersei. My opinion is he's still thinking about the succession. Maybe he wants to get rid of the inherited monarchy and replace it with a proto-democracy (since he mentioned the way the Night's Watch elects a leader). We'll find out in 2019.
My fave part of the episode, and maybe of the whole season, was the Hound carrying a fucking wight in a motherfucking backpack.

Did you watch the directors talk about the episode? The mentioned how they wanted the ending of the season to not end on the same note as the previous season. While I agree with what you think the last scene should have been, I disagree that Americans all want violence. Or maybe they do and I am just the exception...

Its only when I watch it on HBO Go that I get the talk after. Im sure its online somewhere. I actually find them quite insightful, especially on some of the questionable choices.
