Nintendo Direct Topic
Re: Nintendo Direct Topic
When ARMS gets to $19.99, I'll consider buying it. Not before that. There are too many way better way cheaper games to justify it right now.

Re: Nintendo Direct Topic
Nintendo Direct happening in a few hours! Easy guesses I think we'll get
Xenoblade 2 December release.
Skyrim date
The rest of the fire Emblem Warriors characters
New Kirby game for 3ds coming out this fall
Beyond that, I don't think we'll hear anything about virtual console or switch online services. Nothing on Metroid Prime or Pokemon Switch. Maybe an update on the Yoshi and Kirby games if they're coming early next year.
There will be one new first party switch game I'd say.
I'm probably going to avoid the Mario Odyssey stuff. I'm at the point where I don't think I need to see anymore of the game!

First two, probably, since they're like 15 second reveals. I'd be surprised if we got to see the whole roster of Fire Emblem Warriors characters, but that's usually because there are a lot, and there are usually some story surprises in there, but maybe! The Shoemaker wrote: ↑13 Sep 2017 16:11 Xenoblade 2 December release.

Agreed on VC/online services, MP, and Pokémon. We might get to see more Yoshi just because they've been keen to promote that game over the past while. The Shoemaker wrote: ↑13 Sep 2017 16:11 Beyond that, I don't think we'll hear anything about virtual console or switch online services. My bold prediction is Super Smash Bros. Switch, port of the Wii U version with all DLC/post-release characters and content, with maybe one or two more things added to keep it fresh. Getting the big-franchise multiplayer games out on this system is too big an opportunity to miss.

Re: Nintendo Direct Topic
I say the rest of the characters on Warriors because I believe the game comes out in Japan this month? I also think they've showed around 20/25 characters so far, but maybe that is too many to show.Kong Wen wrote: ↑13 Sep 2017 16:23First two, probably, since they're like 15 second reveals. I think with a Smash Bros port on Switch, that would be the last game to bring over to get the lagging Wii U owners onto Switch. And I agree, if the next game is 3+ years out still, better to have that multiplayer experience on Switch early. Maybe this time with a solid online framework?

Re: Nintendo Direct Topic
Oh, I don't know how likely this is, but it would be really nice if they released a system update with an internet browser and maybe apps like Netflix to coincide with it?

Re: Nintendo Direct Topic
Yeah, FE:W is coming out very soon, but I just don't think they need to reveal all the characters before launch. What we've seen is enough.
Not likely. I feel like we'd have heard something about it from Netflix first. The Shoemaker wrote: ↑13 Sep 2017 16:47 Oh, I don't know how likely this is, but it would be really nice if they released a system update with an internet browser and maybe apps like Netflix to coincide with it?

Re: Nintendo Direct Topic
As always, I predict it will not happen, but I'm holding out hope for an F-Zero announcement. But I'll mostly be happy with anything. Mario Odyssey is a real thing that is happening, so I'm set as far as Nintendo goes for awhile.
I hope you're wrong about this. I'd really rather wait a couple years and get a true sequel. Having said that, I think you're right. It makes too much business sense. My only question would be if they'd support the GameCube controller adapter for one more generation. You'd be hard pressed to convert a diehard like me to another controller. GCN controller is Smash.Kong Wen wrote: ↑13 Sep 2017 16:23 My bold prediction is Super Smash Bros. Re: Nintendo Direct Topic
We can have both. We know a true sequel isn't going to come out for a few years, and Nintendo doesn't want to sleep on the moneymaking potential of Smash. They've already demonstrated that they don't want to let their best Wii U games (by definition overlooked) to rot on that console, so I wouldn't be surprised to let people keep playing a current polished-up Smash for a couple years while they cook up a real new one.Claytone wrote: ↑13 Sep 2017 17:38I hope you're wrong about this. Also, on your last point, they'd be absolutely crash to let this glorious opportunity pass them by:

Doom/Wolfenstein - Not my games
Mario Party/Not actually Mario Party 100 - Would be better on switch also there's no board just mini games?

Xenoblade 2 and Octopath Traveller look awesome.
I think I'll actually pick up DOOM on Switch. Definitely important to have these games, a big publisher like this will only convince more third parties to support switch.
3DS had a solid showing to be honest, nice for anyone who is still playing their 3DS.
