What is a "core" Mario game?

You include wario land (SML3) but not wario land 2, 3 or 4 etc ?
You didn't include SMW2 either.
I actually thought SML3 was just like 1 & 2 so just automatically voted for it. Looking at gameplay I would say no it's not a core mario game.

SMW2 is a spin off yoshi game in my mind.
