What games are you looking forward to playing in 2018. (Including non 2018 games)

Alternative consoles (e.g. Ouya), arcades, board gaming, card games, cross-platform, pen & paper, pinball, retro gaming, tabletop, and any other form of gaming that doesn't fit the other categories can be discussed here.

What games are you looking forward to playing in 2018. (Including non 2018 games)

Post by SkyPikachu »

I’m limiting myself to buying only 5 games next year to try and handle my backlog better so I can try and enjoy new releases more instead of buying them and never touching them. Hence my list will include a lot of games that aren’t released in 2018.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - I loved the original and I know little to nothing about this one. I’ll make sure reviews are good then go in blind most likely.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole - I adored the original and am just waiting for a price drop before buying. Really excited to play more of the same fun.

Skyrim - This is a game I regret not playing earlier but I’m excited to play it on switch now.

Horizon Zero Dawn - This game stood out to be in 2015/2016 E3 and I finally decided to ask for it for Christmas it’s gotten some fantastic reviews and I can’t wait to play it.

Kingdom Hearts II - Once I finally beat 358/6 days I’ll start this or I’ll just give up on 358/6 and play this. Preparing myself for Kingdom Hearts III. I heard II is better than
the original which is exciting.

I’m probably forgetting some others but these are the big ones.

The ones I can think of off the top of my head are Monster Hunter: World (looking forward to some party chat full-fireteam trapping and hunting) and Fire Emblem... not sure if the latter is actually going to come out in 2018, but we'll see.

After such a stellar year, I actually don't have too much I'm hyped for in 2018. Though to be fair, it wasn't until 2017 that 2017 games were actually announced for Nintendo.

Monster Hunter World
is up there, though oddly I'm not that hyped for it. Maybe just because I don't expect I'll play it as much on console, but I've also been avoiding all coverage of the game, so I'm sure it will surprise me.

Red Dead Redemption 2, definitely on my radar, even though I did not play the original. I was hoping they would port the game to PS4.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 might slip into 2018 for me as I'm pretty content with the games I'm playing right now. Might be more of an after Christmas game than a 2018 game.

I'm sure the Last of Us 2 and Spider-Man will be good, I'll most likely wait for a price drop on both.

I want to get and play that Detroit game (assuming it actually comes out next year).

.hack, Fallout 4 and Prey are close on my list of to-play games that I expect to play in 2018. And God of War III.
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

I'm also in for Monster Hunter World.

Also on my list are:

Ni no Kuni 2, which will hopefully be okay.
Dragon Quest X, which should finally hit our shores.
Into the Breach, by the FTL guys
Red Dead Redemption 2

And I may finally pick up a Switch

Do you mean Dragon Quest XI? Would be really interesting for X to come over here.

Too bad it looks like complete ass. I'll probably refrain just to preserve the quality of the first game in my memory.

Which DQ would you recommend for a first time player?
