If Gamefreak is going to mix it up, then the series' first main-line entry on a home console—especially a console as mixed-up as the Switch—is a good time to do it.Jordan wrote:There are some crazy rumors floating around right now about Pokemon. One is that Gamefreak is looking into making a non-turn based Pokemon RPG. Another is that Gamefreak is thinking of a 2018 release. Finally, I read somewhere that they are thinking of keeping the Z moves but giving players the ability to activate them with motion controls (this is the most hilarious rumor I've heard).

Eww
Didn't they say they had just started developing it in mid 2017 I find it hard to believe it would only take 18 months.
Maybe it was just me but Megas and Z moves were so lame and gimmicky also motion control can gtfo it's not 2006 anymore.

Re: Nintendo 2018 Prediction
The most believable part of the rumour for me is the motion controlled Z moves lol.
I'm sure they started "developing" the next Pokemon game is 2016, whether they knew it was going to be on Switch or not.

Here is a source on the information I posted earlier:

I have to admit that I'm a little wary of some of these ideas, but I do think they will make a decent game in the end.

Re: Nintendo 2018 Prediction
I'd be happy to see some of the best Gamecube/Wii games getting HD Switch ports -
Top picks -
Viewtiful joe 1/2 (unlikely)
Mario Galaxy 1+2
Zelda Windwaker
Zelda Skyward sword (unlikely to ever be on a console without wii remote)
Smash bros 4 (easy way to tide over until new smash)
New super mario bros collection
I'd also love for Duck Game to come to Switch

Re: Nintendo 2018 Prediction
As far as I'm concerned this is an absolute certainty because Nintendo allowed a company to port the Mario Galaxy games to the Nvidia Shield handheld in China which uses much of the same hardware as the Switch. Punch-Out Wii and Twilight Princess were also ported.
Re: Nintendo 2018 Prediction
I saw that, the entire porting process was done out of house though so I don't feel certain it'll be done. They didn't use the Wii U Twilight princess resources either

Re: Nintendo 2018 Prediction
When twilight princess was made for Wii U it was done out of house as well, so I wouldn't be too surprised.
In the case of Mario galaxy though, I would expect them to do more than just render the games in HD, even though that would still be pretty good.

Re: Nintendo 2018 Prediction
Yeah, Nintendo does plenty of ports out of house. I mean, Punch-Out Wii isn't even developed by Nintendo. I believe somebody said some aspects of Galaxy were also changed in the port to function without Wiimote controls. Anyway, cmon, this is Nintendo allowing ports of freakin' mainline Mario and Zelda titles to go on a non-Nintendo system. And this system just happens to have nearly identical hardware to the Switch. This doesn't really feel like a stretch. Heck, people got Dolphin running on the Nvidia Shield years ago. So the Switch definitely has the power to run even a heavily abstracted Wii game. The Shoemaker wrote: ↑29 Dec 2017 00:20When twilight princess was made for Wii U it was done out of house as well, so I wouldn't be too surprised.
