The tomb raider sequel was another good one, the uncharted formula with a slight metroidvania flair to it. The story lost me a bit, but a good ride. Not sure if I'll start the third game soon or hold off for a bit.

After a long, long while, I have finally beaten a Suda51 game that is not part of the No More Heroes series. Shadows was great. I griped in the Now Playing thread about not feeling it, but not long after, the mechanics began to come together for me, and I really enjoyed it. It's got fun humor (even when it occasionally misses), a unique environment, and that perfect Suda charm. Like his other games, I doubt I'll play another quite like it, even if this game arguably plays the most like a traditional video game of any he's made. Would recommend to anyone that has any interest in his stuff.

XC2 Torna was a very enjoyable prequel. They made a lot of changes to the battle system for the better. Also, some great new music. I liked the new story and characters, but like the original game, lots of awkward dialogue and weird line delivery.

Like a fool, I didn't realize that this game had a "final" level until hours after I unlocked it.

Oh, well! This is a game I'll continue to play from time to time for probably years to come given its wealth of challenging puzzles. Having said that, it's nice to have some closure in knowing I "beat" it, though, at least in the sense that the devs mercifully provide this opportunity to roll credits without requiring you to beat the game's truly devilish levels (although, as I said, I'd already played well beyond this level before realizing I didn't have to).

This game's reputation is well known by now, but I recommend that everyone play it. As a computer scientist, it particularly interests me (as it is basically abstracted programming), but I think anyone would enjoy it.
