BGE Off-Season: Game of the Year: 2018

The "BEST GAME EVER!!!" Project's Off-Season: Game of the Year series will be a simple exploration of the best games from recent years. It can often be difficult to remember which games came out in which years, so reflecting on what we've played and then compiling lists here can help hone our collective memories.

These threads will be organized in three sections:

1. long lists (a list of all the great games that came out in a given year),
2. short lists (narrowing it down to the ones you genuinely think are the best), and
3. the overall Game of the Year.

The administration will make an effort to compile everyone's picks for these three sections into the main post, so we can see which games float to the top, which games make the cut, and the kinds of difficult decisions people had to make in selecting an overall favourite.
