I'm slacking hard this year, too. I'm not bringing my Switch to Russia with me. As great as it would be to play on the plane, I don't really want to have it on me in a strange land. So airplane time should be good book time!

Finished a couple more books. First Tolkien’s Two Towers. Am still enjoying this reread of LOTR. Also knocked out Enchanter’s End Game or Belgariad 5. As I noted in the chat, I’m not as fond of it as I was when I first read it. It’s fun but clumsy as a drunken juggler. I may take an Eddings break before going into the other series or the prequels.

Just started a non-fiction book to plow through about the future of humanity called The Future of Humanity by Michio Kaku. Good times.

1. Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings
2. Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
3. Enchanter’s End Game by David Eddings
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

I finally (finally) finished Samuel Butler’s The Way of All Flesh. It’s an old school satire of British society at the time and was pretty fun to read. Not sure which of my latest Easton Press books I’ll start next - Plato’s Republic or Candide

1. Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings
2. Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
3. Enchanter’s End Game by David Eddings
4. The Way of All Flesh by Samuel Butler

I read Candide in a little over a day. It was good - I rather liked it. As I mentioned in the chat, it was uncanny that they went to El Dorado right after I started playing Uncharted 1, which is focused on that very place.

Next up: Plato’s Republic. Am still chipping away at that Future of Humanity book, too.

1. Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings
2. Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
3. Enchanter’s End Game by David Eddings
4. The Way of All Flesh by Samuel Butler
5. Candide by Francois Marie Arouet de Voltaire

I finished William Polk’s ‘Understanding Iran’ and absolutely loved it. Am about halfway through my Michio Kaku book and about a third through my Plato book. I may start another book before I finish Michio - probably either Return of the King or Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Good times.

1. Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings
2. Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
3. Enchanter’s End Game by David Eddings
4. The Way of All Flesh by Samuel Butler
5. Candide by Francois Marie Arouet de Voltaire
6. Understanding Iran by William R. Polk

I just finished Choosing Death - a phenomenal book about the history of death metal and grindcore. I just loved it. It was fun to read about bands and albums I’ve loved for years as well as some I hadn’t come across yet. Essential reading for anyone who likes extreme music.

Am still reading The Republic and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I also got a new kindle so I’m chipping away at The Tyrant’s Law - a Dagger and Coin series book (#3).

1. Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings
2. Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
3. Enchanter’s End Game by David Eddings
4. The Way of All Flesh by Samuel Butler
5. Candide by Francois Marie Arouet de Voltaire
6. Understanding Iran by William R. Polk
7. The Future of Humanity by Michio Kaku
8. The Return of the King by J.R.R.Tolkien
9. Choosing Death by Albert Mudrian

I finished Jose Saramagi’s Notebook - basically a year’s collection of blogs from back in 2008 and 2009. I loved it but it made me want to re-read Saramago books but those will have to wait. My queue is lengthy. Im not sure what book I’ll replace The Notebook with yet. Am still reading Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and The Tyrant’s Law - a Dagger and Coin series book (#3).

1. Castle of Wizardry by David Eddings
2. Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien
