#BGE2020 - Round 1 - Pool 127

Welcome to the first round of #BGE2020 pools!

Each game is randomly seeded into pools using the set generator at Random.org. There's no seeding, no ranking, and no preference or prioritization.

The results of the pools will determine how each game stacks up in the elimination rounds, coming later this year.

HOW TO VOTE

Voting is ranked, but it's not super intuitive, so listen up.
  • You have 6 total votes to distribute.
  • You can only select up to 3 options.
  • You can only give each option up to 3 votes.
  • NOTE: The number you pick is not the RANK of your choice (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd), but the number of VOTES you're giving it.
  • The more votes (bigger numbers) a game gets, the better for that game.
EXAMPLES
  • You could pick three games and order them by giving them 3, 2, and 1 votes.
  • If you like three games equally, you could give them 2, 2, and 2 votes.
  • If you only like two games, you could give them 3 and 3 votes (or 3 and 2, etc.).
This gives you a lot of granularity for how you assign your votes and thereby a lot of influence over which games can do well. Use your power wisely!

Just Berzerk for me here. A tough, dreadful (in a good way), and fun old school action game. It’s just about impossible to beat but, for once, that doesn’t bother me much. You’re outgunned and that’s the way that goes...

Stacked enough poll that it looks like I'm the only one who took a traditional 3-2-1 breakdown here. Wing Commander in a continuation of the dogfighting space sim theme, Berzerk for old-school arcade goodness, and a leftover vote for Audiosurf.

3 points for SSX Tricky in an easy call despite a solid bracket. One of the absolute best early PS2/GCN/Xbox titles. 2 more for Berzerk because it rules, and a final vote for Mario Bros.. I don't think MB is actually that good, but I had a blast playing it one night years ago with my cousin for hours while shooting the shit, cracking jokes, and giggling like young boys do. Sometimes that's all it takes! For that matter SSX Tricky was also bolstered by being one of the few games my sister and I enjoyed together as kids.

Okay this ENTIRE time I thought you could only cast each number once per poll. I guess there's another way? I see Vic cast at least two 3s, so apparently so.

You can do 1-1-1, 1-1-2, 2-2-2, 3-3, etc. As long as you don't go over 6 total points across 3 max games.
