#BGE2020 - Round 1 - Pool 149

Post by This Old Neon »

Welcome to the first round of #BGE2020 pools!

Each game is randomly seeded into pools using the set generator at Random.org. There's no seeding, no ranking, and no preference or prioritization.

The results of the pools will determine how each game stacks up in the elimination rounds, coming later this year.

HOW TO VOTE

Voting is ranked, but it's not super intuitive, so listen up.
  • You have 6 total votes to distribute.
  • You can only select up to 3 options.
  • You can only give each option up to 3 votes.
  • NOTE: The number you pick is not the RANK of your choice (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd), but the number of VOTES you're giving it.
  • The more votes (bigger numbers) a game gets, the better for that game.
EXAMPLES
  • You could pick three games and order them by giving them 3, 2, and 1 votes.
  • If you like three games equally, you could give them 2, 2, and 2 votes.
  • If you only like two games, you could give them 3 and 3 votes (or 3 and 2, etc.).
This gives you a lot of granularity for how you assign your votes and thereby a lot of influence over which games can do well. Use your power wisely!

If you have questions, ask before voting! :neon:

Gosh, I haven't thought about Primal Rage in years. I recall it being a fun little fighter.

Several games have gotten 3-vote sweeps so far in #BGE2020, but A Link to the Past is the game to get the most total 3-votes in its sweep. The previous record was a tie between Dark Souls, Hollow Knight, and Super Smash Bros. Melee with six 3-votes each (A Link to the Past currently has 7).

Those games weren't voted by every person that voted in that pool though. Where as, with alttp every person has voted for it. Aka I didn't vote Hollow Knight or Smash and Pluvius/evildevil didn't vote for Dark Souls but they and myself did vote other games.

All I can tell you is that this pool is really weak and LttP is the only game that I've played that remotely merited three points. I'm not even that big a fan of Zelda.

I abstained for that reason. I like ALttP but am also not a big fan of Zelda games so I know I’ll never play it again even if I could. i almost gave Zombie Nation and Area 51 some votes but I haven’t yet. I may but for now am abstaining.
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

It's managed to get 3 votes each from all 8 votes. Insane.
