Top 512 — Week 4 — Poll 6

Post by This Old Neon »

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round of 512!

Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Every game in the Upper Bracket has defeated multiple other games in 1-on-1 polls to get to this point. These are still the best of the best.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Oh no. I’ll have to think about this one.

Both of these games are super difficult to beat, but easy to play. That’s not to be derisory or anything - a steep challenge can be a good thing. I went ahead and went with Populous here. I love Rondo even though I’m stuck on it, and I’ve never even come close to beating Populous before, but, if I could only have access to one of the two I’d pick Populous.

Populous epitomizes everything about Peter Molyneux's games, both good and bad. On the good side, it's wonderfully inventive and lots of fun (at first). On the negative side, it never quite lives up to its promise and becomes tedious and dull, going on for much too long (much like Syndicate and others on down the line). Rondo of Blood gets the nod.
