Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round of 512!
Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Every game in the Upper Bracket has defeated multiple other games in 1-on-1 polls to get to this point. These are still the best of the best.
Polls are updated weekly, typically on Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!
HOW TO VOTE
This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Re: Top 512 — Week 8 — Poll 23
Another top five NES game for me! Easy vote. Also best Christmas present I ever got.
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

This will almost assuredly be an unpopular vote, and it almost pains me to make it, since I do love DW2 as well... but I have to go with Team Fortress 2 on this one. Overwatch is a global phenomenon, probably still the biggest team shooter right now, and I guess Splatoon is up there as well, and TF2 is still a better game than both of its children. Better coherence, much more intuitive to play, more readable action, plus years worth of variety in terms of content.

For me the Team Fortress mod for Quake was the best TF. Every TF that came after wasn't as enjoyable.
So no vote for Team Fortress 2.
So no vote for Team Fortress 2.

Isn't Battlefield and CoD way more popular than Splatoon or are they a different genre?Kong Wen wrote: ↑18 Apr 2023 00:46 This will almost assuredly be an unpopular vote, and it almost pains me to make it, since I do love DW2 as well... but I have to go with Team Fortress 2 on this one. Also I believe Overwatch is on the decline after the launch of 2.

I consider them different sub-genres. OW, TF2, and Splatoon are fast-past cartoony team shooters, and Battlefield and CoD are more tactical and rely less on team tactics strictly speaking. And neither of them were particularly influenced by TF2 per se, so there would be kind of different more interesting ways to approach comparing them than just TF2 being better.SkyPikachu wrote: ↑19 Apr 2023 01:46Isn't Battlefield and CoD way more popular than Splatoon or are they a different genre?Kong Wen wrote: ↑18 Apr 2023 00:46 This will almost assuredly be an unpopular vote, and it almost pains me to make it, since I do love DW2 as well... but I have to go with Team Fortress 2 on this one. OW may very well be on the decline now, but at its peak it was way more mainstream popular than TF2 was, even though TF2 was better than it at that very moment. (IMO)

Ah I see my confusion. They're both team shooters but you were talking about a specific type.Kong Wen wrote: ↑19 Apr 2023 03:20I consider them different sub-genres. I guess OW is the king still of that genre since Splatoon isn't as mainstream being an exclusive.
