Bottom 768 — Week 2 — Poll 23

Post by This Old Neon »

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Saturday... or Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IX is one of my favourite (modern) entries in one of my favourite video game series, but I can't let my personal preferences cloud my judgment on a poll like this one. N++ is a perfect platforming game. It strips out all the extraneous trappings and you are left with button presses, momentum, and a goal. It plays fast, responsive, and fast. Great game.

Kong,

It's not perfect, from the sound of it, and it sounds like it may not work on the Steam version (bummer as my desktop no longer has a DVD drive).
If I do end up investigating a patch, this may be a good starting point...

It seems kind of shocking that something like this wouldn't work with a Steam version... or maybe just for now. I look forward to someone other than me investigating this. :D

It should, I'm just going from the comments. I'm sure with some tinkering it's possible, it's probably just a file reorganization or something.
I remember the DVD version having some standard-issue copy protection from back in the day, but I wouldn't think removing that would cause issues.
