Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Saturday... or Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Strange that the excellent and influential tactics game Langrisser II is behind an embarrassing furry-skinned generic adventure game that has nothing to do with Star Fox.

Strange that the excellent and influential tactics game Langrisser II is behind an embarrassing furry-skinned generic adventure game that has nothing to do with Star Fox.

Mentioned in chat, but I haven't played Langrisser 2. While I'm confident I would enjoy it (possibly more than I enjoyed the excellent Der Langrisser, its remake/remaster), I feel I should abstain.

The fact that it wasn't originally brought over, and by the time the fan-translation and emulation scenes picked up its sequel was considered a more interesting version of the same game probably makes it even more obscure. It's likely that strategy fans in the west have no idea of Langrisser's influence on the genre in general.

Der Langrisser is good for a lot of reasons, but Langrisser II is good for different reasons, which is interesting. Overall I think I prefer Langrisser II. It's so strange how an original game and a more or less upgraded port can stand beside each other with distinct strengths and weaknesses.
