Bottom 768 — Week 9 — Poll 14

Post by This Old Neon »

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Saturday... or Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Not a fan of Minecraft but can't overlook its impact and significance.

I refuse to play Minecraft. Not my thing. But it's legacy is unavoidable. It got my vote for that reason. Plus Yooka-Laylee was a disappointment.

I voted for Minecraft even though I don’t play it. My kids have quite a bit….

I've played and enjoyed (and still occasionally enjoy) Minecraft - I didn't play it for years, re-bought on the Switch for split screen and had fun with it for 5 or so hours. My daughter doesn't like playing with monsters on, but it's a little too calm for me with them off... and the lowest difficulty level for monsters is still much too hard for her (and it's harder than I remember Minecraft being, maybe I'm getting soft).

There are more interesting crafting/survival games out there now, but it's still a pretty fun game.

One of the appeals for the influence/legacy of Minecraft is that it can continue to exist, generations later, alongside the games it inspired, as a toy to be played with. My oldest nephew still plays it as a design simulator, where he builds gardens and houses for pigs, and modern houses with Olympic pools, etc. It's a great outlet for creativity and exploration even when it's not being played as a "game"
