Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Every game in the Upper Bracket has defeated multiple other games in 1-on-1 polls to get to this point. These are still the best of the best.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

I love Mortal Kombat (1992), but the first one skated by mostly on fancy digitized sprites and shock value. It's nothing special to play today. Mega Man 2 still rocks.

Mortal Kombat did more for gaming as a whole. It was one of the major reasons the ESRB was created. I voted for it for historical reasons. Plus, it started a franchise I like.

Yeah, I think these are great reasons, and I think the fancy digitized sprites and shock value Clay mentioned are also great reasons—all reasons I voted for it in previous rounds. But I can't vote for it against MM2, personally. The pure fun / pure quality disparity is too great.
