BOTTOM 320 — Week 2 — Poll 32

Post by This Old Neon »

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

I'm actually playing Disco Elysium now (I'm on day 2, which admittedly isn't necessarily a barometer for progress). I can see why people like it. Even on Switch which has crashed a few times, it's a good play.

It's simultaneously fun and depressing. Seeing and exploring the strange city of Revachol, making compromises (or refusing to pursue certain things, or I guess saving and reloading very frequently) is certainly an experience, and I'd go as far as saying I haven't seen a narrative this compelling and detailed since Planescape: Torment. It's very forgiving of failure (arguably, failure is in keeping with the known narrative so far more than success - yes, I am the sorry cop) which is also refreshing.

I'm not sure I can, game-in-progress, justify voting for Disco Elysium over Wizardy 8, which I only know by reputation, but it's certainly really good so far.
