Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round of 32!
Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Every game in the Upper Bracket has defeated multiple other games in 1-on-1 polls to get to this point. These are still the best of the best.
Polls are updated weekly, typically on Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!
HOW TO VOTE
This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Re: TOP 32 — Poll 6 of 16
Seeing Suikoden, SotN, and MGS kicking around in these brackets really goes to show how strong Konami was in their heyday. Big force for Sony.
This might be a controversial vote, but I'm going to give it to Suikoden. SotN is a great game, but it's not perfect. On a personal enjoyment level, I prefer Aria, even though I had to cut that loose against its superior opponent this week. But Suikoden is a wonderful, strange, ambitious game, with tons of character (and characters!) and multiple different styles of combat, some of which only get used a couple times in the whole game. When it first game out, alongside SNES that were still being released, I remember being blown away by the detail of its large, articulate sprites. Really made it easy to fall in love with. It's a shame Suikoden II isn't here to see it... Suikoden 1 will have to carry the torch for the series.

Agreed! Also SOTN is very easy (on normal mode) or very hard (on luck mode) but some of the features like magic or certain rare drops trivialize much of the game beyond the first half hour.Kong Wen wrote: ↑05 Feb 2024 20:25 Seeing Suikoden, SotN, and MGS kicking around in these brackets really goes to show how strong Konami was in their heyday. While it's an exemplar of the metroidvania genre, no metroidvania has made me feel the way Suikoden does.
