Yes and Yes. Is there something specific you would like to see me do? Track, shortcut, etc? I think the camera for the drifting is actually pretty good.

This one is also pretty good, though I think I prefer the one above:

I think having one video per paragraph, just to illustrate the idea you're talking about, would be plenty. You can of course have multiple videos like this on your channel and maybe people will watch them all, but I'll probably embed one for each "strategy" point.
I agree KW. I will try to get a few more videos with different focus. Should it be included somewhere that I frown upon some of the "cheaters" that manipulate certain parts of the game to get ridiculous times? My Yoshi's Circuit time was 2:01, and I could maybe only get it down another second or two, but the world record is currently 1:40. This guy fire-hops and borderline glitches. To me that is not within the spirit of the game.

Anything else you need from me on the writing front? I'm available!

Don't know if it's for the article, but seeing you race with a lightweight character each week, I wonder if that makes a difference on a track (or just the combo with vehicle/wheels/char.). Is Yoshi Circuit just as "easy" with Wario or with wooden wheels? Is there a best combo for each track, or does it come down to practice and using your favorite combo? As for the Yoshi N64 track .. is the old shortcut still the shortest (or fastest)? What is the best way to correct a drift going wrong (bad timing at start of drift can make you lose control in a turn, as in 'last' turn of the new Rainbow track)?

And same time tomorrow? ;)

I think a real perfectionist would say that everyone who can drift should use a heavy character and a fast kart. I think it has more to do with character and kart familiarization. You can get good with anyone, but pick something that goes with the style of play that you want to do.

As for Yoshi 64, what way are you specifically talking about?

Come turns can be corrected, others cannot. Sometimes I start the drift the wrong way and really get screwed up. That is the only time I ever use the brake button. I tend to start my drifts really early so I can carve into them. Let's say there is slight right then a big left, like at the beginning of Wario's Gold Mine. I start my drift going left before the right turn so I am actually turning left the whole time.

With Mario Kart 64, the wooden ramp was the shortest way through Yoshi Valley. It doesn't seem/feel as short on the new track, but I still use it as a habbit. Maybe I just have to try it out for myself in a couple of time trials...

[edit]
Just did try it out and got my answer. The wooden ramp still is the fastest way, followed by the s curve next to it. The canon is no good for a fast lap and I've still got to try the other (probably longer) routes.
This and the other non-tournament related posts are better suited for the Q/A thread for MK8.

I dont take the bridge out of habit, but the S curve allows me to get some mini turbos from drifting, so I think it comes out pretty close.

The new amiibo support doesn't include Pit, so no new costume for me yet (might get Toad at some point).

200cc looks crazy with the speeds and higher/farther jumps. Wonder how it works on the Wario track where I sometimes get hold back jumping into a overhanging board (after the two fire circle jumps).

Can't wait for the new DLC tracks, but they looked the same? (with different seasons?)
