Mario Kart 8 Q/A
Re: Mario Kart 8 Q/A
Also, Big Blue has been revealed to be 1 big lap, much like Mount Wario. Could be fun!

Hopefully, but I've read an article that it has to be unlocked. Comments on the article about this, differ in opinion. The article was on NL, stating:evildevil97 wrote:I assumed all you had to do was download the update.MerlinDrazziw wrote:Has anyone read about the requirements to unlock 200cc?
One of the comments:It does have to be unlocked however, but most veterans will likely have fulfilled the requirements long before the update is released.
If that's the requirement, I still have to finish a couple of 150cc cups. The requirement for 200cc is to get a gold trophy (1st place) in every 150cc on disc cup.
Also on NL, I saw a video of two people playing Big Blue on 200cc. Out of control racing, bumping into the sides and falling of the track in turns. Guess that's what will likely happen in the first few races we get into when we try 200cc for the first time.

Yeah it'll take some getting used to for sure! I have all the cups already. Interesting thing about this game is if you don't have any of the 50cc or 100cc trophies, and say you get gold on the Mushroom cup on 150cc, you'll automatically get the Mushroom cups for 50cc and 100cc.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Q/A
After checking my 150cc, I found I already had 7 gold (not all 3-star) and 1 bronze. Changed the bronze to 0-star gold and unlocked mirror mode, so I guess I'm "ready" for 200cc ...

Re: Mario Kart 8 Q/A
Well, I have now, and I'm a pretty big fan. Most of the tracks are pretty quality. The Subway track and the toyland track are particularly really cool.
But Big Blue is the best Mario Kart track ever released, and I'm not sure how that could ever change.
Absolutely awesome, especially on 200cc (and, boy is that a surprisingly difficult and unwieldy mode the first time you try it).
As a big fan of F-Zero, it also includes some things that make me optimistic about the potential future of the series. The track eschews the GX aesthetic and sounds in favor of the look and feel of X. This makes some sense, since X is the most recent F-Zero developed by Nintendo EAD, so it would be the one the big boys at Nintendo (Miyamoto in particular) would've had the most input on. I'm a fan of this because I think Nintendo did a better job with the art direction of the series than Sega. Anyway, the point is it makes some nods to F-Zero as a series that show some degree of care and attention. Maybe F-Zero has some gas in the tank yet?
A bit of a digression, but the point is Big Blue is awesome and the other tracks are pretty decent themselves. Quality DLC, imo.
