So, what's the current ETA for this BGE, anyway?

If everything goes according to plan, we'll have the N++ interview up on Tuesday or Wednesday, followed by the review on Friday if Vic & Share can write quickly enough. Then I'll have a second article hopefully ready by Friday 7 August. If that percolates for a week, then we can do the BGE!!! announce, rules, and open nominations on Tuesday 18 August.

Hey gang, I'll be working on a BGE header image over the weekend and wanted to take some community feedback about how we present it. I'm leaning towards doing an abstract image consistent with much of the rest of the site, but way back we had also discussed a collage of iconic games imagery way back when the site was coming together. We're hoping to have a lot of eyes on this, so I wanted to get some feedback if possible.

I think you should just keep it in line with the site's aesthetic. No need to introduce iconic characters and games in the banner image. The list will have plenty of those when people vote for the games they think deserve to be there. Maybe once we get to those final knock out rounds a special banner can be made of games that made it that far.

Just another update: I'm compiling a launch/announcement post that will summarize the rules and invite people to join to submit nominations. With Vic's title banner image, I'm hoping we'll be able to publish this and officially launch the Project on Tuesday!

This Old Neon is also going to offer some incentive to participate, in the form of game codes for various platforms. Everyone who submits a list of nominations (not including This Old Neon staff or their family members) will be entered into a draw to win. More details on this later.
