Metal Gear Rising was really awesome, just pure action.

I almost voted for multiple choices on this one, but decided not to just because of the title of this thread. I'm a total contrarian.

There's a bunch of good games on this one though. I opted for Age of Empires 2, which was simply an amazing game that did everything I wanted at the time it came out. I never got gud at RTS games or became addicted to them, but when I was younger I liked the historically based ones such as Age of Empires, Empire Earth and Rise of Nations (much more recent).

Second abstention. The only one I've played here for the necessary amount of time is Legendary Axe, and that wasn't quite good enough to get a vote.

I debated abstaining, but I threw a vote at Castlevania. I've enjoyed a lot of the Castlevania games I've played, and Dawn of Sorrow stands above many of them. The art style is lamentable, but the soul absorption system is really fun.

I loved AoE2. Watched my friend play it tons and played a fair share of it myself.

Easy pick for me.

It's interesting, AoE was pretty much the zeitgeist in gaming (at least in my circles) for a while there, but it seems to have kind of faded from memory, or its legacy didn't really catch hold or something. You don't tend to hear much about it nowadays.

Contrary to my earlier post, I did in fact play AoEII, but never cared for it. That game did contribute to a friend's 9 years at Queen's though.
