I have to abstain here. Have only played Rondo a tiny bit and none of the others at all.
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

Rondo of Blood will definitely be getting one of my votes, but it's hard to say what else will. I'll think about this one.

Wario Land on the Wii and Rondo of Blood are both two bloody great platformers. I havn't really played the other games.

Papers, Please gets an honorary vote from me for its brilliant use of satire through a miserable interface and impossible odds. Gameplay creates subtext in a big way here, and it is brilliant. I intend to return to it with a mouse in hand, as playing with a laptop trackpad is NOT how you want to approach this thing.

Yes, this is a perfect way of putting it.

Papers, Please gets my main vote here as well, largely for these reasons. Apart from the gameplay itself, the visual style is very nice and evokes the same kinds of oppressive feelings that the interface and framing device (providing for your family) do.

For my other vote, I chose Professor Layton and the Curious Village. (There are a few of these games in the BGE, but this is the only one for which I would vote.) It's a good puzzle game nested in a cute narrative framework.

Rondo of Blood and RollerCoaster Tycoon get my votes. The former is simply one of my top favorite games and one of the finest platformers ever made. The latter I spoke a little bit about when I voted for its sequel last round. I think RCT is a very accessible sim that can be as deep or as shallow as desired by the user. I love it.

I'm actually quite sad that it doesn't look like Rondo is gonna make it another round. It's so good, but I imagine its Western inaccessibility (until its Virtual Console release) has contributed to its vote count.

I'm going to pass on this one. I've played a fair few of them, but I don't think any of them are worthy of "best game ever".
