Got to go with the multiplayer classic, Goldeneye. So many good memories with my friends and family playing that game. The single player was great too.

Re: Qualifying Poll 9/10: Seven Seas
Mega Man 9 vs 3.... I'd actually go with the revival. MM3 is the second best NES MM game (next to 2), but MM9 refined so much. And gave us a damn woman.
Re: Qualifying Poll 9/10: Seven Seas
I agree that Mega Man 9 is better than Mega Man 3. Neither is as good as Mega Man 2. I'm not a big fan of this bracket overall. I think Ultra Street Fighter IV absolutely deserves a vote as the current pinnacle of the entire fighting game genre. Sword of the Samurai is cool, but I don't have enough experience with it to cast a vote. SimCity is a good and important game, but I don't personally enjoy it enough to give it a soft vote in this round. And that's that for this bracket for me.

Re: Qualifying Poll 9/10: Seven Seas
I voted for Mega Man 3 and 9. Wanted to say, though, that I'm one of the few that feels like these are both better than 2 though, for someone who has mixed feelings about Mega Man in general, take that with a grain of salt. Mega Man 3 had some neat new perks, including sliding and Rush, and I just loved the boss rush at the end that even brought in the prequel's bosses.Kong Wen wrote:I agree that Mega Man 9 is better than Mega Man 3. Edit: Also Proto Man and generally better bosses IMO. Mega Man 9 is better still just from being such a matured entry to the series and so polished and awesome. I started playing it again recently just due to seeing it in polls over and over and voting for it. I missed it and wanted more
Edit 2: Mega Man 2 did have better music but that's the only real superiority I see in it over 3. Not enough to change my overall conclusion as 3 had pretty good music too.
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.
Re: Qualifying Poll 9/10: Seven Seas
Sliding and Rush are a couple of the reasons I feel like Mega Man 2 was better than 3. One of my problems with the Mega Man series as a whole has been that the pure shooting & platforming gets diluted with more mechanics with each subsequent entry. The bosses are fine in 3, but I like MM2's bosses more overall. I also feel like the stage design is a LOT better in MM2 than 3. The one weakness I can point out in MM2 is the weird (unbalanced?) boss weapon/weakness cycle.Sharecrow wrote:I voted for Mega Man 3 and 9. Re: Qualifying Poll 9/10: Seven Seas
Arent the Mega Man 2 bosses all in 3 (albeit through a Dark Mazter or something who is mimicking them) after the main game but before Wily? If memory serves... If so I don't see how MM2 could have bosses as a strength unless you strongly prefer MM2 weapons. You get all of the bosses and more in MM3 the way I see it.Kong Wen wrote:Sliding and Rush are a couple of the reasons I feel like Mega Man 2 was better than 3. Not in any meaningful sense. They don't look like them, they barely behave like them, and you don't get to use the same versions of their weapons.Sharecrow wrote:Arent the Mega Man 2 bosses all in 3 (albeit through a Dark Mazter or something who is mimicking them) after the main game but before Wily? Re: Qualifying Poll 9/10: Seven Seas
Voted for both Mega Man games and nothing else. I like Street Fighter, but not *that* much, and I stopped voting for games based on influence/importance several rounds ago.
Re: Qualifying Poll 9/10: Seven Seas
Mega Man 9, Rayman Origins, and Ultra Street Fighter IV will advance to the Top 128.
