Here's a tie-breaker! Only one of these two games will advance to the Top 64.

53 - Bubble Bobble - 1986 - NES/SMS
76 - Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest - 1995 - SNES

You have one vote. The poll will be open for 4 days.

I feel like this is going to be a bitter standoff. We have big fans of both around here.

I don't even know what the other game is :o

Nonetheless DKC2 is 1 or 2 on my BGE list so it's a no brainer vote for me.

Both are good, but platformers appeal to me more, and DKC2 happens to be a really good one.

Bubble Bobble is a really good platformer.

Also, this is a neat comparison of Bub sprites:

Cool! I never noticed before, but NES Bub looks is missing Arcade Bub's smile. Sega MS Bub looks saddest of all (excluding maybe Sinclair ZX).

I always thought it was weird on NES how thoughtful the dinosaurs looked as they were bouncing around. Probably because they weren't smiling.

It takes a lot of concentration and focus to bounce around on bubbles like that.
