Apparently I never ported my VC-F stuff over here. Also, this list is due for some updates!
1. Complete one game 100% (caveat: must have significant objectives other than beating it).
Progress: COMPLETE!: Ratchet & Clank (PS3 [PS2])
2. Beat at least eight retro (up to and including N64 gen) games acquired before 2014.
Progress:
1. Strider (Genesis)
2. Shaq-Fu (Genesis)
3. Earthworm Jim HD* (XBLA)
4. MediEvil (PSOne Classics)
5.
6.
7.
8.
Obviously EJHD isn't retro per se, but it's a remake of a SNES/GEN game that I also have (but have little reason to play given the existence of the HD version), so I'm counting it. Also, I seem to have simply missed the fact that I beat MediEvil, which I bought at the tail end of 2013, so it qualifies for the resolution.
3. Beat a shmup. Simple as that. Progress: Incomplete
4. Beat five 360 games (acquired before 2014).
Progress:
1. NBA Jam
2. Earthworm Jim HD
3.
4.
5.
5. Beat at least 4 games from series I've never played before
Progress:
1. Devil May Cry
2. The Walking Dead
3. Ratchet & Clank
4. Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
6. Make a video game.
Progress: COMPLETE!

Re: 2014 New Year's Gaming Resolutions
Well I did awfully this year. Mainly due to buying more games than I thought and having needed to beat way to many games.
Next year I will have goals that don't have a domino effect if I fail 1.

Re: 2014 New Year's Gaming Resolutions
I had failed so hard at my posted resolutions from VC-F that I didn't even bother to port it over! It might have been a bad year for my announced goals, but it actually turned out to be a great one in a few areas, and I wanted to celebrate that. So in the spirit of positivity and to inform my 2015 resolutions, a few excerpts from 2014:
- My running total for games beaten this year is 41, the most since formally recording them (2013, 2012 and 2011 had 35, 34 and 30, respectively). 16 of these are complete/100%/Platinum.
- In tandem with the above, it was a big PSN year for me, which saw me skyrocket up our forum leaderboards, ending deep into the top 10 (6 current). Not bad for a new account less than 2 years old.
- Not an achievement but a fresh slate for 2015 resolutions, I now have a PS4 with a manageable backlog.
- My game spending continues to drop year over year, a trend I expect to continue. My running total for 2014 (with only a couple days left!) is under $850.00, almost half of 2013's $1600.00, which was about half of $2012's.
A good snapshot of habits tending more toward play than consumption, this will be the crux of my 2015 resolutions.
