I'm sure Sonic will be fine. I spent much more time with Sonic 2 than with the original. I went ahead and cast my sole vote for Final Fantasy IX here. One of the weaker entries in the series, awful plot and characters, but it had a battle & character advancement system that recommend it as a passable vote in this early round.

You mean you didn't like Quina's really deep story about wanting to eat everything?

Sonic the Hedgehog, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, Donkey Kong Country 3, and Final Fantasy IX will advance to the next round.
