I haven't played Dark Souls or XCOM, but I have a very, very, very strong suspicion they are both better games than Final Fantasy Tactics. It's a shame this poll isn't closer and there wasn't a realistic chance that both could tie or knock out that overrated step backwards from Tactics Ogre. Fuck it, I'll vote for them both anyway.

I think I heard somewhere that XCOM was a bit of a let down. Maybe I'm wrong as I have no interest in the series. This could be the reason behind it being below FFT.

The reason it's behind FFT is because FFT is one of the finest tactical games ever created. XCOM is great, but it would be hard for any game to live up to that masterpiece.

Portal, Final Fantasy Tactics, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown / Enemy Within have secured places in the Top 64.

Dark Souls was eliminated, largely thanks to RNG for seeding a bracket so heavily with quality games. It's a double-edged sword, since it means some good games were bound to be statistically eliminated on one hand, but it guaranteed that no undeserving pap would squeeze through on the other hand.

Another result where I could have been the difference. Most of all, this BGE has taught me to only vote once.

I'm learning the same lesson.
