Suikoden and Guacamelee fans are far to sophisticated to do anything like that.

FF7 has a lot of rose-tinted hype. Heck, it managed to build up quite a swell of hype right around the time it was released. It became a cultural phenomenon (never mind that FF8 soon outsold it). I'm not undercutting that—it is an important BGE consideration—but I'm not convinced I want to cast my vote that way.

[Also, it's perfectly possible that people 20 years from now will react to the news of a Guacamelee remake like that.]

Right now I'm leaning towards either Guacamelee or Suikoden, or perhaps FF7.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition defeats Suikoden and Final Fantasy VII to advance to the Top 64.

I'm going to check out the Suikoden series it looks interesting.

You could try Guacamelee too.
