They have some semi-redeeming features, but they don't deserve to be grouped together with the original. Not really even the same kind of game.VictorViper wrote:Agreed, Kong. I'll go further and call them straight garbage.

Re: SE7: Final Fantasy - Round 1, Bracket 2/2
Replaying Tactics Advance on my Wii U now, 13 years after I originally played it.
I kinda liked it back then even though it was a huge disappointment. I'd played the original and loved the griminess, the depressiveness and the political intrigue story. It was one of the most "grown up" games around and one I thought would make a great novel. And now here I was having a snowball fight and going into a magic book.
Playing it with fresh eyes and no expectations attached... I'm liking it a lot more. It's got problems and it's not as good as the original, but it's still a good game. Hell, I like it better than the PSP port of the original with the horrific dialogue.

Wow, I completely disagree with you guys on the GBA games. I honestly thought they were great. Just because the style is different from the original FFT doesn't make them garbage. Gameplay wise they did everything right for a FFT game. The second one in particular had a really good selection of classes and was really fun on hard mode.
