Lots of Bob Dylan recently. Cycling between Blonde on Blonde, Highway 61 Revisited, Blood on the Tracks, and Bringing it All Back Home.

Also really been digging the Prince album Batman. Super underrated and forgotten about but really good.

Love me some good Minnesota music!

I've listened to this at least three times a week, generally more, since being introduced to this band about 3 months ago. Dynamite crossover prog, just for the fun of it. Go now.

The ELO Album “Mr. Blue Sky.” In 2012 Jeff Lynne decided to record some of ELO’s greatest hits all by himself in his house. He plays all the instruments and sings all the parts himself. The only exception is the female vocals are provided by his daughter. Overall it is just a really cool project that shows us just how talented he is.

I also picked up the live at Wembley cds and Bluray. It is essentially thr same show I saw in Denver last week.

I was sick so I worked from home today. Thought I’d share my playlist for any interested.

Disturbed - Immortalized
Suicidal Tendencies - World Gone Mad
Nine Inch Nails - Bad Witch
Iron Reagan and Gatecreeper EP
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
Michael Jackson - Invincible
Ministry - From Beer to Eternity
Queensrÿche - Empire
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

Dumping a couple of recommendations in here for Kong, but as usual, these are generally recommended to everyone.

The Celebration Army - Excellent, reasonably straight ahead Rock/R&B from Toronto. My sister's guy turned me on to these guys when I was back in Ontario and it didn't take long to hook me. Nothing too fancy here, just really, really solid.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - Solid psych rock with light prog elements. These guys have supported King Gizzard and the mighty Black Mountain, and that's serious clout.

Alright kittens, I've been a poor steward to this thread but 2018 is coming to a close and I want to get some blood flowing in here.

Rather than mock up a typical best of list (which we can still do), I want to propose a game. It'll take some dedication so I'm not sure this will fly, but here goes: Anyone interested in participating should post their personal favourite albums of 2018 (2018 releases, no reissues, remasters OK). Everyone who joins commits to listening to each album posted once, fully. Once everyone has digested the big list, we'll repost our personal favourite albums of the year and see if anything changes!

Because this will take quite a bit of time (we can assume 40-70(!) minutes an album), I'm thinking 3-5 albums per participant should be plenty. If we get 5 of us into this we'll have a respectable list of 15-25 AotY winners to post up, and hopefully have a little fun while we're at it.

We've got a handful of pretty dedicated sound junkies around here, and while I won't be a jerk and drop names, you know who you are and I hope I can count on a few of you to help me get this started and maybe we'll have a few others jump in.

Anyway, I figure we should do a quick interest check to better determine the number of album nominations to roll with, so pop in and raise your hand if you're in!

I’ll bite. This wasn’t as good a year for new music for me as last year was but there’s still a handful of good releases I can share.
