Don't you guys technically have Eric Staal? He's a Canadian national team stalwart. Although I question your definition of "do so well"...

Yeah he is on there. By 'do so well" I meant second most points in the West last season. I consider that doing well. As opposed to sucking, or dominating.

Fisher retired after all. At least the Preds got Johansen signed to a huge contract.

So how many people would be interested in a proper hockey pool this year or would we rather something simple like last year?

I rather liked the simple approach you created. It was small-scale but creative. I don't know if the 4-5 (max) people we can put together would be able to support a proper full-scale pool.
I should pimp it on our TONe social media channels when we get it going though. You never know if some die-hard out there wants to join the forum for such a random reason.

I might try and change up the ruling a bit for the simple approach. Something like pick 10 players top 6 = your score. Can't pick more than 2 players from the top 10 in scoring last season. Hopefully that way we have teams that different.

Okay hockey pool again similar to last year but a bit different.
- You must pick 10 players for your pool
- Your top 6 players will go towards your final score
- You may only pick 2 players that had a point per game average of 0.80 or higher in 2016-17. Stats can be found here
- You may pick all forwards or all defence or a mixture of both.
Also like last year
- Pick the 4 teams that will win their divisions
- Pick the Stanley Cup champion of 2017-18
- Pick which team that made the playoffs in 2016-17 that you think won't make it this year
And a new question doe this season
Will Las Vegas finish higher than Colorado?
Picking the Stanley Cup champion will net you 20 points.
Other correct questions will net you 5 points each.
Tie-breakers will be decided as following.
1. 7th best players points added
2. Best point per game average (top 6 only)
3. It's a tie

Sounds interesting Slurm! I'll have to have myself a little think and come back with my picks later.
