24-27 October - Alright... I beat the boss I mentioned before, then finished a new (!?!?!?) zone last night, collected all the collectible grubs, all the sword techniques, all the magic spells and their upgrades, all the mana upgrades. I still need 2 mask shards (HP containers), 5 charms, 1 more ore for what
has to be my final sword upgrade (and I know where it is), and there are 6 optional bosses I haven't tackled yet, 2 more levels in the arena, 1 whole sidequest chain that I just discovered (not sure how long it is), and then the optional boss rush modes.
Game clock: 45 hours.
I spent $12 on this game.
28 October - I defeated 5 of the 6 optional bosses that I hadn't tackled. There's one left and I've tagged him on my map, so I'm coming for him tonight. I found a new
Super Meat Boy platforming zone. (And beat it!! It took 3 hours.) I got the final two mask shards to complete my HP, and the final sword upgrade. I'm only missing 3 charms, but I'm 100% certain where one is, 90% on another, and 50% on the last one. I completed the arena. I only have one missing entry in my hunter's journal. I'll work on all this lingering stuff tonight. Might be on pace to finish everything on Halloween night!
29 October - Alright, here we go! Defeated the last optional boss that I knew about, but then discovered 2 more and beat one of those too! I collected all the charms, beat the side-quest, and filled my bestiary. All I have left to do tonight is complete the full bestiary notes (just killing a couple monsters multiple times), get more practice in the pantheons/boss rush modes, and beat the game.
30-31 October - Done. What a good month!

I’m still working on Layers of Fear 2, Resident Evil 7 (yikes!), and Fatal Frame 2 (yikes!). Alien Isolation is on the back burner now but I may just chip away at it so I can beat it down the road.

Working through Luigi's Mansion 3 to keep Spooktober going. Of course it was inevitable given that it came out Oct. 31

Fall is getting closer and October is just around the corner! Any creepy or creepy-themed gaming coming up for anyone? I’m going to finally play the first Silent Hill game. I’m going to try Fatal Frame 2 again as well. What is it about Fatal Frame games that I have to start over so many times before I’m able to finish it? Lol. Anyway I’m trying again.

Oh man, good idea to post early to get us mentally prepared! I usually get spooked by spooky games, but looking back, I had a very successful October last year, picking up the
Platinum trophies for
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and
Hollow Knight.
I wish
Hollow Knight: Silksong were out already so I could mirror last year and play subsequent games in those series. Instead I suppose I'll play one of the other
Bloodstained games (or maybe both of them, if I'm feeling ambitious) and then something else if I have time.

Thanks for bumping, Share. This is always a fun month. I beat two
Ghosts'n Goblins games this year, so maybe I'll try to tack on a third. I do love them so. If not,
Castlevania III has been on the to-beat list for awhile as well. Or I could play
Bloodlines on my Mega Sg. Lots of options! I'm sure something will jump out as the obvious choice before long. Like Kong said, good thinking to bump the thread and get us thinking about this.

I believe I've made my opinion known to you before, but just in case I haven't, I was a big fan of the
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. BIG FAN. A modern, pretty, easier
Castlevania III. Maybe I'll have to add the second one to my list of potential October games.

RE VII was just added to Game Pass, so I'll probably get to that in time for October!

Be warned that’s a terrifying game. It’s well done though. Very well done.

I have started Silent Hill. It has a good environment, as I expected. I haven't gotten very far yet though...I am usually too tired by the time I get to it after playing Suikoden to spend much time on it LOL. I'll beat it in October, though, I'm sure. I'm almost done with Suikoden...

I have no self-control and have a couple days off this week, so I've started
Maximo. It should at least last me until October starts, though. It's really good so far! I just beat the first set of levels and am on to the second world. I think it's very interesting for a game from 2002 to have rationed continues! I haven't used one yet, but it still keeps me careful. Charging money to save is very RE as well. Interesting game!
My new (to me) PS2 I'm running it on seems to be in great shape, and I'm loving my micro setup with my new tiny Sony PVM. Fits on my desk so I can easily cruise TONe while playing.
