I beat Gunmetal Arcadia Zero tonight, a short precursor to the roguelite platformer Gunmetal Arcadia, which was released today on Steam.

Zero has all the makings of a good platformer—nice controls, good feel/movement—but some user experience elements bring it down. This could be a side-effect of the systems having been built for a different game, and kind of shoe-horned into not quite the same genre here, but I can't be sure until I play the new one.

Beating this game also has the effect of finishing my "beat 1 game on Steam" resolution for the year. Yay us!

I completed all 150 picross, 150 mega picross, and 3 micross puzzles in Picross e7 (3DS) without using any hints, auto-checking, or any other feature. This puts me ahead of my year-end totals for 2015 already, and we're only part-way into February. Still a way to go before I penumbrally eclipse 2016, but we're getting there.

I beat the normal mode campaign in Fire Emblem Heroes (Mobile), and I've cleared the first two worlds of the hard mode campaign. The stamina requirements mean getting through much more is going to be a real time-sink.

Finished Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, There were some tricky to find bits but I ended up collecting everything and finished this. I was surprised when I started playing to find it's a Metroidvania style game.

Beaten:
1/7 - Dead Rising 4 (Xbone)
1/15 - Pokémon Luna (3DS)
1/22 - Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)
2/4 - Double Dragon IV (PSN)
2/5 - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U)
2/20 - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Remastered (PS4 [PS3])

Part of my resolution (that I've yet to actually post about) to beat 4 games from series I've never played before, I knocked this game out from the great deal that is the Nathan Drake Collection. I didn't really find the game that great, but I can see where it has potential. Will definitely check out the other two games on disk at some point. For now, though, I think I'm gonna try to (at long last) beat Killer 7 before the Switch comes out.

Replaying the first Uncharted, it's pretty basic. The story really drops out in the middle and focuses on very long shoot outs. The second one is much improved in terms of combat variety, story pacing and more engaging gameplay. The series is a bit over rated in my opinion, but I also think the games were best played when they first came out, as they are meant to be technical marvels in terms of visuals and video game story telling.

Finished:
(Jan 09) Paper Mario Color Splash (Wii U)
(Feb 03) Bloodborne (PS4)
(Feb 07) Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest (3DS)
(Feb 14) Code Name S.T.E.A.M (3DS)
(Feb 22) The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (3DS)

Complete:
(Jan 11) Shantae Half-Genie Hero (Wii U)

Ages was pretty sweet, I think I prefer Seasons mechanic of changing the terrain over Ages traveling through time. The four seasons allows for a lot of opportunities in the game world, compared to the two options Ages time traveling mechanic adds. I did like some of the time stuff they did though.

With Specter of Torment coming soon, I remembered I never finished Plague of Shadows! It was a nice remix of the game, though I prefer Shovel Knight's original move set.
