You'd think they would just put up pre orders, see how the numbers fair and manufacture an appropriate amount based on that.

For 10 seconds.

Kong Wen wrote:Well, getting an SNES itself isn't too expensive, nor are most of the good games. But when you start looking for RPGs, it can get expensive. I'm led to believe that the price of carts has been steadily increasing since my collector days. Fortunately, this is moot for ol' Kriggles, who doesn't tend to favour the RPGs.
If you haven't dipped your toes into the waters of SNES game buying for a few years you might be surprised. It's no longer just RPG's that are commanding high prices, I'm afraid. The SNES collecting scene is very much the domain of the rich kids of Youtube these days. When super common games like Super Mario Kart and Zelda are selling for £30 - £40 for just a cart (and that isn't an anomaly sadly) its time to consign another classic system to the file marked "used to be fun to collect for".

Now you're playing with power... Super power!
Very retro little promo. Neat new information such as the ability to rewind games on the spot, choosing different boarders for the sides of the screen, and suspend points.

Sweet! Pre-orders came out of nowhere. I think there might possibly be a few more retailers putting up pre-orders, not sure if we'll see another round of pre-orders though.
Clay might be the only one with an SNES Classic, did anyone ever get a NES Classic?

Did they only allow you to pre-order one?

I missed out. Looks like I will have to ask my wife to wait in line.

Hehe, I think I'm going to have to suck it up too. Best Buy wasn't doing in-store pre-orders, and EB was sold out when I asked. Everything online sold out. Nintendo says they'll have tons of stock this time around, but that's completely irrelevant if they keep letting scalpers use bots to snap up all the pre-orders and then re-sell them for $300.
