Re: What are you reading?
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.
Re: What are you reading?
I went ahead and knocked out RDR. I liked it but it was an irksome mess of a book. It had a couple of good moments despite itself, though. Makes me want to play RDR 2. My next gaming book will be one I’ve been looking forward to for years: You Are the Hero. Can’t wait!
But for now I’ve got four books going on so that’s plenty.
1. Shogun by James Clavell
2. The Spider's War by Daniel Abraham
3. Tai-Pan by James Clavell
4. The Last Druid by Terry Brooks
5. Shatterday by Harlan Ellison
6. The Godfather by Mario Puzo

Re: What are you reading?
I knocked out two more books - first Ursula Le Guin’s Left Hand of Darkness, which was quite good. I liked it a lot. It ended up being a different book than I was expecting when I started it, but no less great for that. Well done. Next on my Kindle I’ll read Phantom of the Opera for my first time.
Also finished the epic Mallorean series. Wow - how fun. Nerdy, but fun. I still have two prequels to read as well as a codex to get platinum, but the main story arc is read (errrr re-read). Next, though, I’m going to pick up Jonathan Green’s first You Are the Hero book as I’ve wanted to read it for years. It’s time.

Re: What are you reading?
Knocked out a couple more. First, I finished the Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, which I liked but didn’t love. Pretty fun read though. It was my first time. For my next Kindle book I think I’ll read Mars by Ben Bova.
I also FINALLY finished Portrait of a Lady by Henry James. I also liked this despite the writing often being a bit laborious. It took me so long just because I kept getting distracted with other books, which, by itself, I suppose says something. For my next Easton Press book I’ll probably read Fathers and Sons by Ivan Turgenev.
Good times.

Re: What are you reading?
And indeed I did. I just finished The Prose Edda by Snori Sturluson, written and/or compiled in the 13th century and translated in this edition by Jesse Byock in 2005. Pretty good! Somewhat lighter and fluffier than some of the mythic classics I'm accustomed to (i.e. the Greek & Roman ones), but good fun. I especially liked the story about the time Loki "tied one end of a cord to the beard of a goat and tied the other end around his own testicles" to win a bet by making a giant laugh.

Re: What are you reading?
I just finished Fathers and Sons yesterday. Great book. I liked it more than I expected to. Am starting the Analects of Confucius next, which should go quickly. Also still reading Noble House and The Cobra.
I gutted and resuscitated my website and posted a first entry. Will do one for nearly every book I finish going forward. There are spoilers but, after careful consideration, I decided that I’d target readers who have already read it or that aren’t sensitive to that. I don’t tell everything obviously...I find I often read reviews of things I’ve already read or listened to that I love just to hear what someone else thinks about it, I think that’s pretty cool.
