Black for the same reasons as Shoe. White could be good, it just seems like they didn't optimize any of the rest of the UI around it. Everything's too bright. I'm waiting for themes.

I just hope we see some aesthetically pleasing ones that aren't gaudy and awful.Kreegs wrote:It's going to be cool to see the different themes!
Agreed. But some of the gaudy ones still might be pleasing!Kong Wen wrote:I just hope we see some aesthetically pleasing ones that aren't gaudy and awful.Kreegs wrote:It's going to be cool to see the different themes!
I don't suffer bright screens in general. I have all my devices set with ultra low brightness and all my apps on a dark backgroud color scheme.Kreegs wrote:Random question:
Do you have your menu theme set to white or black?
I use white.
I'm not expecting to hear any of that during the presentation, maybe afterwards? They are prone to having Nintendo Directs a few weeks after e3, I could see a specific one dedicated to that before Splatoon 2Kong Wen wrote:So, it's almost E3 time. Think we're any closer to any Switch functionality? Maybe they'll mention Virtual Console plans? Party chat? Online infrastructure? Firmware update? Fixing the console? It would be nice to at least get something. This is a good time for it.
That looks pretty awful, but looks like it's only necessary if you want to hear game audio and voice out of the same earphones? I always just play audio on the TV and voice through the earphones.Kong Wen wrote:Heh.
They should let us plug a headset into the Switch and chat with a party chat app on the system. While we're at it, add a "quick menu" that overlays on top of an open game application so we can control matchmaking, friends list, party chat, etc. without minimizing back to system menu.
Edit: Holy fuck.
Yeah, which is what most people want. Just because there's a less-good way to use an industry-standard feature doesn't mean the feature shouldn't be well-implemented.The Shoemaker wrote:That looks pretty awful, but looks like it's only necessary if you want to hear game audio and voice out of the same earphones?
