You mentioned in the blog that your first read was KJV and your second was NIV. Are you planning on taking a different translation for a spin this time around?

I thought about it but I don’t think so. The Bible I’d had for around thirty years, which was NIV, started falling apart during this read through so I bought an NIV study Bible about halfway through. I want to read the extra stuff in it as I go. I also considered reading a version with the apocryphal books but maybe the next time.

Fun fact: my King James Bible started falling apart, too, during my first read. It was only about twelve years old I think.

As part of my COVID treatment I reread my favorite Céline book, Journey to the End of the Night. I’m going to probably go back to this Yaa Gyasi book now.
